The Forest Sky Pier at Sealy Lookout offers an fantastic vantage point to enjoy the amazing views of Coffs Harbour and its surrounds. We were fortunate enough to be able to go up there on a clear day and it was well worth the 5km of winding road off the highway to get there.Tip: lookout for the side of the road stands that offer local bananas and avocados!
As a previous reviewer has indicated, this Pier provides wonderful photo opportunities, just unfortunate that weather conditions when we were there were not the best.
Great vista of Coffs Harbour and the coast. Turn off the highway just north of Coffs Harbour, and it's 6km's (about 7 - 8 minutes) up the hill - after approx 4 km's you turn left - follow the signs. The Sky Pier is at Sealy Lookout. Plenty of parking and the view is magnificant. There are a couple of picnic tables / bbq pits available at the top, and you can do a bush walk from there too. Great for photos.
As a local I have seen how much of a difference the Forest Sky Pier has made to Sealy's Lookout. It really puts you out there so you can really take in a grand view of Coffs Harbour and it's surrounds. With a greater than 180 degree outlook it is also a particularly excellent location for photography as well.
The day we decided to take a trip to this lookout I remember the uncertainty of where it was exactly and on the way there were no helpful signs until the last turn. So just in case you are in any doubt, you need to proceed up Bruxner Park Road until you get to Scenic Drive on the left. The Forest Sky Pier is right at the end of that road. We had no difficulty finding it in the end.On the way up the hill the road is pretty narrow, twisty and turny and there are a few bags of bananas by the roadside for purchase. We bought a 3 dollar bag with about 15 tasty, if small, bananas, which was well worth the price. We even had the added excitement of rolling the money down a long tube which lead to the home of the seller. The lookout was well worthwhile as views go even though it was an unsettled day. Lots of parking was available and only the odd tourist came by. There is nothing else here though so don't expect more. I.e. No gift shop or cafe. It is what it is - a pier in the forest with nice views. We took lots of pictures and started the nearby short walk which began a hundred meters or so back down the road but the kids didn't buy into that plan so we headed back before getting to the end unfortunataly.
We visited the lookout many years ago before the construction of the Sky Pier. It was lovely to visit the lookout again during our visit to Coffs Harbour, and find that the new addition has not spoiled the area - in fact it has enhanced the experience. Also enjoyed the drive to get there - up a windy road through the banana plantations and Bruxner Park Reserve. Recommended for all visitors to the area.
It was a winding drive to the Forest Sky Pier but the views of Coffs Harbour were worth the drive. Going through banana plantations and nature made the drive breathtaking. Then you get the views from the pier. Wow !!!
An amazing view once you reach the top, but a rather nail-biting road to get there. You are rewarded with an amazing view from north to south and out to sea. Not great for people who dont like heights though.
Well worth a visit or a detour to get a look at this great panoramic view. Easy to find, good parking and no charge!
While staying in the area did some sightseeing. Getting there is fairly easy despite road work disruptions. The road is a bit windy but as long as you stick to the speed limits its a reasonable drive. However once there the view is marvellous. We could actually see other places we were heading to that day (Mutton Bird Island and the Coffs Botanic Gardens (both well worth a visit). Took a lot of photos as there are views up and down the coast. A "must visit" if in the area
Right out of the Cafe and into the clouds above the treetops. See the whole escarpment area and then walk it if you dare!
A short drive from Coffs Harbour up to the look out. Great view of the area. Worth the 1/2hr drive from Pacific Hwy through the countryside & banana plantations.
