I was given a personal tour by Ann Sloane and had a great time! Ann has so much knowledge and passion for what she does. The farm has everything for everyone. I saw little lambs and they're absolutely adorable, saw at least 20 Kangaroos, a few Wallabies, countless birds...At one point, I was standing at The Homestead (a cottage farmstay), looking out the forest, it was profoundly peaceful and quiet. It was serene and tranquil...I had never experienced anything like that before. When I came back to the States, I showed the photos to my friends and they were so jealous, it was pretty funny. Ann and Alex Sloane give a guided tour of the large farm that has been in their family since the 1800s. They take you on a walk through a large acreage of bushland that they have preserved as it has always been. They are a working sheep farm with about 8,000 sheep and the explanation of the shearing process was fascinating, as were the old buildings still in use. One cabin is full of old artifacts that they have found on their property. My husband and I had a two-hour private tour by Ann and it was very reasonable. [-] We highly recommend this visit if you are anywhere near Yarrawonga or Mulwala.
