I have been eating at The Fish Shop for the past 10 years. Thought it's time I do a review. This Fish Shop started 1993. My favourite is the Flat Head Tails. This time we ordered Flat Head (2 pieces), Calamari, Fish Cocktails, and Chips. We also ordered half kilo of crystal bay prawns. Rating is 10/10. The fish comes fresh dip in light batter, and fried in free cholesterol oil. Will always return to this shop for the best fish and chips. Attached photos of the shop, menu, and the order today - 11 March 2015.
Great for kayaking, easy access to Ulladulla by bike track. Not much choice for restaurants. Lovely beach with no one there over the xmas break!
Head to Dolphin Point where the entrance of the lake is pristine. Great rock walks, fantastic beach for families.
Liked everything about the location - there are shops near to buy necessities and close to Ulladulla
great lake location. lots of bike riding in the region. many national parks nearby. enjoyed the Milton Bakery coffee and pastries as a treat each day.
Being great fish and chip (AND potato scollop) fans, we were keen to try out this fish shop, that had been warmly recommended, when we visited Burill Lake. The shop is on the highway just before the bridge going south. The shop is spotless with a great choice of FRESH seafood, very well cooked, pleasant staff, even though they were very busy. We ordered Silver Dory and chips (for one in the party) and potato scollops for the others. We also got some battered NZ mussels (which were divine). Our serve of fish turned out to be 4 decent sized pieces of Silver Dory...talk about value for money. We went just across the bridge to eat in the very well kept Lions Park by Dolphin Point, plenty of tables and clean rest rooms. There are BBQ's available, but why bother when you can get yummy hot fish and chips.
We stayed in a beautifully renovated 2 Storey house on Maria Ave with river views and a gorgeous garden. Despite 7 out of 9 nights/days raining we fished, relaxed and enjoyed the serenity of a sleepy little south coast town. Corner shops had the basics and a quick 10 minute drive into Ulladulla for the rest was easy enough. Have re booked for same time next year.
Pelicans were as curious about us as we were about them. Don't miss a trip to Dolphin Point. Best fish and chip shop around and so many lovely areas to sit and enjoy.
Lovely to be able to relax beside lake without being bothered by anyone.Managed to take good photos .
Take your pick of what to do, water ski, fish, kayak, swim ( but be smart and stay away from the mouth of the inlet) Burrill Lake offers plenty of salt injection into the veins for those that need to relax or recreate. Couple good little cafes for eating, bottle shop and supermarket to fill your picnic basket. Good clean parkland around as well and two fabulous caravan parks, any wonder it's popular.
This is where you take the family or friends down to where the lake runs into the sea to eat the fish and chips you bought near the bridge (best on the coast). Lots of shallow water to play or fish in, but beware fishing from the rocks -can be dangerously slippery.
