A most enjoyable cruise and lovely seafood buffet (or you can choose a BBQ or state dietary issues they can cater for). The lunch cruise leaves at 9 and returns you at about 2. If you take the shorter cruise you leave at 9, get off at Tumbulgum and are bussed back to Tweed at midday.You really need to be laid back, for the great value price you need to put up with some deficiencies. Wine list looked good but not much of it was in stock, very underwhelming enforced stop-over at Tumbulgum, interesting on-board décor, very hardworking single server and unfortunately a photographer.Luckily for us it was a lovely day to spend cruising the Tweed, there was plenty of lovely wildlife including dolphins, the company courteous and the commentary informative. Suitable for children? Yes.

We went on the morning cruise which included morning tea and lunch and which left at 09:30.The first half of the trip which included morning tea and cake & biscuits also had a very good commentary which told the story of the river without becoming over powering with a lot of useless info. Well done captain. At one point the boat stopped and one of the crew threw pieces of fish to a flock of waiting birds including a couple of ospreys and the usual crowd of hungry seagulls.We stopped for an hour at the village of Tumbulgum which allowed for a beer at the pub then a trip back during which a very nice seafood or steak lunch was served with plenty of salad. There is a bar on board but beware, they only take cash. The crew of three were very good and the whole four hours was worth the cost.

Lovely peaceful cruise with beautiful scenery. Crew were very friendly and helpful. The bird feeding was entertaining and the lunch was delightful

The scenery on the trip is great and the commentary and information is good but we booked the lunch cruise and we felt that there were too many people on the boat. Once you found a seat at one of the tables you were unable to get out unless the person behind you moved as the tables were so close together. The meal was only ordinary. One our party paid extra for the seafood lunch which he said was ok but the rest of us were not impressed. I wouldn't recommend it. They also have a morning tea cruise where you are taken one way and then taken back to Tweed Heads by bus.

A 4 1/2 hour lunch cruise with morning tea and lunch. Great value for money. Experience feeding pelicans, and birds of prey, a real treat. Tumbulgum was a pleasant half way stop, although when we visited in mid winter not all stores were open. A must visit is Birdwing Cafe & Curios. The Surf and Turf lunch freshly cooked on the boat while we strolled around Tumbulgum was great although medium rare steak wasnt an option!

My friend and I went on the 4.5hr cruise and had the surf and turf lunch. It was a very pleasant relaxing cruise with beautiful scenery and abundant birdlife. The highlight for us was when the lady fed the birds from the top deck. There were huge numbers of pelicans, gulls, kites and others. It was awesome with all these birds flying around us squabbling for the food. There was a well presented commentary on the way with lots of historical info about the area. Our meal was nicely presented and very enjoyable. The BBQ was cooked on board while we were ashore at Tumbulgum for 1 hour with nothing much to do except go to the historical pub for a drink. All in all it was a great day and good value for money. I'd love to go onboard again.

Been to the GC area a few times, but never done this cruise and how sorry we were not to have done it more often. Ferry is of high quality, crew were very friendly, commentarty along the way was very informative. The feeding of the birds was good. Lunch option of Surf and Turf was perfectly cooked on the BBQ on board during the stop over and served with a wonderful smile! Wonderful time, highly recommend it.

We have been on this cruise twice and will go again. It is a nice relaxing way to see the hinterland of Tweed/Coolangatta. The cruise operators have permission to feed the local raptors and we were treated to seeing White-Breasted Sea Eagles, Brahminy Kites and Whistling Kites.

The trip itself thru beautiful countryside and unspoilt original rainforest is well worth doing but the icing on the cake has to be the extraordinary interaction with the wild birds. The boat feeds them each trip and so when you arrive at the designated point you are greeted by a flock (approx 30) of pelicans, kites and sea eagles all trying to get to the chicken pieces being thrown overboard.The food and the commentary are both really good and at $55 for pensioners represents exceptional value.We will certainly do it again

This is the second time we have done this cruise during our stay in Coolangatta. We enjoyed it very much the first time & again recently.Captain Murray gave an excellent commentary, We were fortunate to have a lovely sunny day & the scenery was superb. The food was good - we chose two different meals - one surf & turf & one seafood banquet. Guests were encouraged to return for 'seconds' so no shortage of food. Morning tea is also served on the way up the river - tea/coffee & cake.The 3/4 hour stop at Tumbulgum enabled us to have a wander around the street where we found a lovely art & craft shop together with great jewellery & shoes. The 1887 Tumbulgum Tavern was also an attraction for many people.Would certainly recommend this cruise.
