A lovely drive up from Wincannia but we missed the turn off to the Lake Perry Mound Springs. When we finally found it the sign was tiny. Upon arriving at the springs there was a car park and virtually nothing else. No signposted walks or anything to help you find your way around. Unless you go with a guide I think you may be wasting your time. Seems to be yet another park the National Parks people do not want you to visit.
Our tag-a-long tour began at the NP office in White Cliffs and we followed our guides (Anne and Shirley) for about 60 mins to Peery Lake, with a commentary as we went. The countryside is beautiful and their commentary brought much of it to life for us.Peery Lake was quite something where we had a walk and found lots of Aboriginal fashioned stones, rock carvings and heard about the region and could ask general questions etc. Our guides were terrific, very knowledgeable, passionate and a great 'country' sense of humour.A short drive from Peery Lake to Goodwood Station and we had a lovely lunch with the family, met the kids and talked about life in remote Australia, School of the Air etc. Was a real highlight for us and we'd highly recommend this to anyone interested in life in the outback.
