the big golden guitar tourist centre

Information Centre very helpfull,while we had a broad range of options to check out at the Golden Guitar

Spoke to an elderly man and then a women. Both very very helpful. If it wasn't for them we would not know what to see in Tamworth. Must go if visiting Tamworth.

The guitar is fine as a photo op but that's about all Tamworth has to offer. The visitors centre is a boring, mostly empty room. Surely the staff could look the part (Cowboy hat maybe). The rest is a coffe shop and souvineer shop. There is some sort of cricket display but I fail to see the connection with guitars. A previous reviewer suggested visiting Nundle. I agree, theres much more to see and do in Nundle than Tamworth.

The big guitar is good for a photo shoot we did not do the bradman museum & wax museum so i cant commentthe guy at tourist info was extremely nicethe country music museum was closed down in town & we are still looking for Walk a country mile attraction(i think it has closed downed as well)the best part about tamworth is the big 4 paradise caravan park & the chinese restaurant oppositebut still a nice town

Mmmmm overall very dissapointed with Tamworth went to big guitar and really thats all it is !.Coffee shop was pleasant, nice lady serving us who was happy to have a chat but other than that its not great place !

The gift shop was nice ,with a nice café.Was a little disappointed with the wax museum. It was very dark, a fee to get in, it seemed over priced for what there was.

A great place for gift shopping and full of information on the country music in and around Tamworth, worth a visit.

Well i took a photo of my friend with the Big Guitar then went inside to go to the Wax Museum.They have a Don Bradman Museum too..apparently the owners private collection. .would do better obviously in Bowral but anyway i didnt bother with seeing that but we paid $10 each to see the wax museum.Its only small however so don't expect anything big.Theres about 15 wax figures Slim Dusty..John Williamson etc and you can take pictures.Whether its worth $10 is another thing but its good to see on your trip.

Went there with a sporting team to get a memorable team photo. The only issue is to get the whole guitar in the pic you need to be on the other side of the car park which was annoying when cars where continually driving past having to wait till they are gone to get the photo. staff in the shop at the back very nice.

Very helpful staff, great at giving directions, take a drive to Nundle, a nice little village. They know their area and are happy to let you know.

there wasn't anything to dislike everything was really lovely especially the room where they have all the past winners of the golden guitar

Staff very helpfull, good variety of info souvenir shop the usual, pricey, didn't pay money for wax museum, didn't look like it would do stars justice, & of course have to get the photo if front of big guitar

This is a great shop and tourist centre. The only thing that lets it down is the cafe. Whilst all the staff are friendly and helpful, the selection, quality and service( in regard to time) is dissapointing. Given the pub next door only serves slop for breakfast, we hoped this would be better. Anything hot appeared microwaved, rubbery. I think the owners need to invest in proper kitchen facilities to improve this great centre.

We've visited a few of the "big things" .. big banana, big prawn, etc. Nice to visit and lovely shop inside. Worth checking out.

We walked into this centre after taking photos out the front of the big golden guitar. We wanted some ideas of what to do with the kids whilst here for a few days. There were 2 lovely people who offered is quite a few ideas suitable for the children which we also enjoyed as well. Adjoining the centre is a restaurant and a souvenir shop. We didn't eat at the restaurant but went into the souvenir store and got a few knock knacks to remember Tamworth by. A great place to stop for any info or ideas you need about the area.
