Lovely way to spend a few hours. We took a pram and did the 2 short low mobility walks, first thing in the morning there were lots of kangaroo families grazing. Next time would take baby carrier so we could enjoy more.
We came here for a short stop and a visit to the cafe on our way out of town. It's a very peaceful location and there were a number of walking tracks. We only went on the limited mobility track as we didn't have much time, but it was still beautiful. There is also a great kids playground there with unique equipment. As always with nature there are a few dangers to be aware of, such as a red belly black snake we saw sunning himself on a wooden bridge on the limited mobility track, so best to wear proper shoes, keep on the track and keep alert. But in my opinion that just adds to the experience and shows how much of a natural environment it is.
Lovely spot- nice variety of walking trails- all easy walks but quite lovely. Nice spot for the bird hide too. Would have stayed for lunch but cafe booked out, maybe next time
Great place to explore - amazing plants and wildlife as well and the most informative guides and volunteers.
Enjoyed a visit here on a sunny day in December. Like others we found the volunteers to be very helpful. The lady on the reception was really cheerful and enthusiastic about the gardens whilst thrusting her various maps and bird leaflets at us.We walked around most of the gardens in about 1.5 hours and found them to be really well looked after. We also enjoyed tea and cake at the cafe. There was ample parking.
A very pleasant and well organised venue for a gentle stroll through some Australian Bush, with a variety of routes to choose - colour coded.. The plants are clearly labelled. Extremely helpful volunteers on the counter.
The café is a very place to relax after a walk through the gardens. Visitors walk amongst the local flora and fauna in a beautiful setting. Plants can be bought at the nursery and they are very well priced. Volunteer helpers are wonderful and all staff are very welcoming.
After passing a few times we finally stopped to have a look here. Plenty of parking is available, and the visitor centre looks really good. There's a cafe for light meals and drinks, and plenty of information available. A friendly volunteer welcomed us, gave us a map and explained a bit about the gardens. There are several walks through the park, some are on very well formed tracks, easily wheelchair accessible, others like the deep creek path (has 20 or so steep steps) and forest path which we chose are both rougher bush tracks. None of the paths are too long, our round trip was a couple of kilometres and quite interesting. They have good signage throughout the gardens about the plants and there are different types of vegetation - forest, lagoons, creek etc to keep you interested. They're also set up to keep kids interested with a playground and also an interesting path where they can learn about the wild life. Probably worth a 2- 3 hr visit if you're interested in bush walking or the plants. There's an arboretum and plants are available for sale too.
Have stopped here a couple of times to stretch the legs and get a bite to eat. There are a number of easy and relaxing paths around the grounds. Lots of wildlife (eg. kangeroos and wallabies) to see. Parking is easy and abundant. It is about 10km south of Bateman's Bay -so it's far enough to get away from the crowds but not too far from the action. The cafe is wonderful with half-decent coffee and delicious food. Definitely stop here if you have the opportunity!
Loved the Kids park and barbecue area. A well designed play area. The Garden Visitor and Cafe, had great customer service by their volunteers, and I would like to give special notice to this. We saw Kangaroos hopping around closeby and other animals in our walk around the gardens. Highly suggest a half day visit casually with family, without any rush. Lots of open space for meetings and groups activities. Well organized and planned walking trails.
This is a beautifull well kept and especially well organised botanic garden lots of fabulous walking trails with a huge variety of natives well labelled.
Loved to see all the local native vegetation. Bought some shrubs and had a lunch at the cafe. Tastey food and great location.
This is a wonderful place, for both adults & children, to walk around the many tracks & relax for a few hours. The Gardens Cafe serves great snacks & meals, and also good coffee, to enjoy while sitting outdoors on a nice sunny day. The service is efficient & friendly. The blue wrens also enjoy your company & especially the crumbs you leave for them!!
Whether it's to stretch your legs, stops for a coffee and watch the birds eating crumbs from your table, this is a lovely place to visit. It doesn't matter how much you do or don't want to do, if you're driving past you should definitely stop. :)
If you are stress or just tired this is the place to recharge the batteries. It is a short drive to the gardens where you can stroll around and see great birds and plants. The volunteers can answer most of your questions and love to chat about this unique place. There are things for kids to do at the gardens and they are most welcome. There is a coffee shop where good food can be bought and the place for a quiet lunch among the little wrens (birds) who dance around the area. We had a get to together with family and friends (approx 20 people) pre booked and all had a great time with excellent food and service in a divine setting
