Great place if u like the country life style!!!! :) It was a really fun experience, loads of things to do! Great food!
Just do it! This is just a great experience where you can do things like lasoing, mustering, horse riding, quad riding, shooting,.... We stayed only for one night but regret we couldn't stay longer. Every one is just so friendly and helpful that it feels like one big family.Facilities are clean and the food is fantastic. Don't think about it, just go! You never want to leave again!
We camped in our own caravan on the grounds and although we were the only were camping we were never alone with all the travellers coming and going that stay in the cabins. The staff were amazing and made us feel so welcome paritcularly our 6 yr old.We hereded goats on horseback, did a station tour, whip cracking , bush dancing and bull riding!Things I never though I would ever do let alone our son, who did noit want to leave! Thanks for an awesome experience Kroombit.Karen
A fun experience for those travelling the east coast and looking for a little adventure....Horse riding, Quad bikes, Mechanical Bull, Goat Rodeo, Clay Pigeon Shooting, Whip Cracking and Lassooing.... All in 24 hours!
We chose Kroombit Park because we could sleep under the stars. We went horseriding and camped outside. Food was made especially for us on the woodfire. We enjoyed our night out and were woken up when our guide had made us a fresh coffee. Recommended!
Meet your outback experience with oz experience! Was a fun night rodeo fancy dress lots of goon! Clay shooting trying to catch a goat! Fun times!
Travelling down the East Coast of Australia this ranch is quite literally in the middle of nowhere! That makes it so perfect! Real life cowboys and cowgirls who live and work the ranch particulary made this so enjoyable, with their down to earth approach and stories. The land is breathtaking (spotted a few kangaroos) and you can't help but fully get emersed in ranch life. Take part in horseback riding, mustering the wild goats, goat rodeo and dance and drink the night away in front of the roaring fire!the only downside is having to leave the place!!!
Me and my girlfriend are a early 20's couple doing the usual tour of the east coast so we thought we would throw this in for a change. The wildlife is incredible! Wild Emus, horses, kangaroos, parrots its like going to the zoo and all the animals have been let out. Ive been horrified by spiders all my life so was pleased to find our room was sealed for aircon. When i did come across creepy crawlies (and you will) the cowboys educated us about them and made me feel much more comfortable around them. Highlight for me was the quadbike tour, was lots of fun letting rip all over the ranch. We also did clay pigeon, goat rodeo, mechanical bull and a little dancing. The food was amazing as backpackers we have been on a budget so to eat delicious steak twice a day was great. The staff are fun and friendly and it really feels like your one of them as soon as you get there.
Looking for something a bit different I embarked on an OzExperience bus out of MIriam Vale through the fields to the outback of Biloela - meaning white cockatoo in Aboriginee.Unsure what to expect we arrived along this long winding dirt track outside a wooden shed where a huge pot was on a fire and smoke was billowing. A quick introduction and hearty lunch later our group were told about the activities on offer. These were quad biking around the property with a dip in the new beach, mustering goats on horseback and clay pigeon shooting. If you didn't want to pay to take part in any of these activities you were left to make your own entertainment. I paid an extra $50 to go on the guided mustering trek. It was a lot of fun and I felt very free riding around the outback looking for goats to muster. THe team made it an enjoyable trip and although I feel it was money well spent I felt it was a bit steep on top of the $50 accommodation cost, $7 lunch and then drink costs in the evening. No time for showering at this busy ranch. After the extra activities we walked up to the rodeo ground where we had mustered our goats too. The people who had paid for the clay pigeon shooting, $13 for 5 shells, did this whilst the remainder learnt how to lasso in preparation for later. Drinks were available at a cost throughout the activity.Splitting into small teams we took it in turns to go into the arena amongst the 60+ goats to lasso, brand and remove the Billy's. Nerve wracking but fun. I wouldn't do it again.Still no shower - off to the bar to buy drinks and eat a typical muster dinner of beef. Vegetarian options were available and very nice it was too. After dinner we were given a speech about the history of the cattle station and shown a demonstration of whip cracking. Finally, mechanical bull riding competition. Nobody got passed the third round but it was very entertaining and there were alcoholic prizes for winners. The dorm and beds were very cramped and 'buggy' but after so much action and adventure everyone drifted off to sleep quickly before being up at the crack of dawn for a cooked breakfast. It was definitely an experience.
From the very first moment this place captured our hearts. The warmth of the owners and staff was completely infectious. The atmosphere at this place is really special! We loved the Quad Biking and horse riding and my children would have happily stayed forever. Thanks Al, Kerry, Andy and the team.
This place is awesome.. Such a great night spent there in a clean no fuss cabin. The staff very friendly and willing to help with all activities. We did trap shooting, goat rodeo and mechanical bull riding was lots of family fun. A must for overseas travellers and locals too. Lovely outback bar with one of the best fires I have ever seen amazing.. Oh and don't be fooled by first impressions :)
We're a couple in our 20s and we stayed here for one night..Good- The activities!! We did...goat mustering, quad biking, goat rodeo, clay pigeon shooting, whip cracking and lassoing.- The FOOD!! Oh my god the food. Steak, crayfish, roast dinners and all cooked over a bonfire. Plus the breakfast is pretty amazing, with home-made banana jam. - The bar is great fun in the evening, with mechanical bull riding and drinking games organised by the staff - The whole experience runs like clockwork, the staff are excellent and the day just flies by!Bad- VERY little bad to say about Kroombit. If I had to be nitpicky, I'd say it's pretty expensive for travellers on a tight budget, but it's definitely worth the money. - The accommodation is pretty basic, but you're not here for cosy living, you're here for the experience!I recommended Kroombit to absolutely everybody I've met who is travelling up or down the east coast of Oz. It's stunningly good fun.
What an amazing experience! This was incorporated on a two week tour of the east coast and prior to arriving I was dreading it. I am not a farm sort of person. How my opinion has changed! The dorm rooms were ridiculously small, they had two bunk beds and enough room for two people to stand at a time, not the four of us that it slept, but, we were in there to sleep and that was it! The afternoon we got there we went clay pigeon shooting, tried our hand at goat lassoing and ate a speciality meat from the BBQ. We all gathered in the evening for very reasonably priced drinks, one of the main guys rode into the bar area on a horse...it was weird!! There are rules, such as, when you finish a drink you have to stand 10 meters away from a metal bin and throw it in, if it misses you leave it on the floor so the staff in the morning have something to do! It was brilliant. There was line dancing, learning how to use a whip and rodeo riding after a fantastic dinner. The next morning we went horse riding in which we learnt how to muster cattle, and quad biking. If you don't mind being caked in mud for a couple of days go here. Honestly one of the best experiences of my life!
After arriving late we were greeted by friendly people, live music and a delicious slow roasted joint of beef, immediately we felt welcome! Nothing was planned for the morning so we joined in with their odd jobs which included loading a ute onto the back of a truck and making delicious beef sausages. In the afternoon we went out to muster goats on horseback, the BIlly's we then lassoed in a ring for a competition, this was incredibly fun and would recommend it to everyone. We then were taken up to sunset hill to watch the sunset over the area with a few beers, it was absolutely spectacular so hopefully you can enjoy that also! All the people that worked here were incredibly helpful and enthusiastic, wherever you were there was always someone willing to help and have a laugh.sadly we had to leave the next morning but after saying our goodbyes we didnt get the chance to thank Andy!! So a big thanks to all from Harry Jack and Rosie!!P.S If you decide to go dont forget to say the codeword 'sausages'
I had 2 awesome days there, so many great things to do and even I was there by myself I didn't feel alone at all. They looked after me all the time and let me be part of their little family. It's a great way to see another side of the eastcoast and heaps of fun.
