We stayed at glassford creek in july for 2 nights and it was the highlight of our month in Australia. Bill is a wonderful host and the farm is the real deal. The farm is big but the number of visitors will be small - we were lucky to be the only ones there. There is accomodation for more but not too many so youy will get intimate one on one first names basis treatment. We don't know where to start with the things to do on the farm and the experience we had - it was fantastic. We arrived to be greeted by bill at his Smoko - that's a big open outhouse where there is always a fire - a mini kitchen and a big table for all meals. The farm is in a beautiful valley - 4000 acres and bill took us on a 4 by 4 tour to show us the work he is doing and the nature of the farm generally. Our 3 kids (8,7and 4) loved the farm and loved bill. They milked cows ,got the eggs ,fed pigs , mucked around generally, learned to ride (much more than you would expect in 2 sessions - bill is a great teacher)and lots lots more. The real gem of this place is Bill - he is a gentleman - very charismatic and great with people . He loves kids and they love him.The food is great - all from the farm. Bill tells stories constantly and reCites stories and poems after dinner - ( our kids did an irish dance to reciprocate ) . He is very informative about the farm , his life and Australia and Australians. Like all things in australia - its expensive for a family but its less than other farm stays in the area and you will get much more out of it than the trips to islands and sandy places gewnerally that are way over rated in our view. It was nice nice to do something for achange that was on the mainland. Oh and its closer to the Bruce highway than others. We highly recommend it for all. Horseriding is the speciality so go for that or just for a farmstay generally. Say hello to the puppy Megsy - our 8 year old was in tears leaving her.
