No draught beer of any type on tap. Bottled beer tasted as if it had been left in sun (perhaps during transport). Indifferent staff. On up side some very interesting exhibits/photos of a bygone era when Australia rode on the sheeps' back. In it's glory days this was the place to be seen. Lots of history and the expense of restoring place to it's former glory would be huge. Wonderful lead light windows (some sadly vandalised). Worth a browse through for the interest factor.

We were recommended to visit this hotel for it's history and grand staircase loved the history and the staircase plus the magnificent bar but no one in the bar why? because they had no beer stories abound around the town of the pub being in difficulties and it showed what a waste of an historic pub. Hope someone will sort it out it needs some TLC

The Historic Hotel Corones Scones and Stories Tour is truly a unique and special experience. Not merely a tour, but a personal journey through the history of early Australia, translated into a wonderful tour of the magnificent buildings and enjoyable afternoon tea.

The tour of this Hotel showcases the dedication and talents of many families along the way to preserve history for us all to enjoy . You have to take it to be blown away by the stories told by passionate guides. The picture of the eras tell stories also even showing the hotel in the floods. The scones are to die for. Go see some history and enjoy.

We attended the Corones Hotel restaurant for an evening meal as a family of 4. The meals were extremely well presented and very well priced for what was provided. The Hotel has a lot of history and a walk around the lobby area with all the historical items displayed was well worth it. We would definitely recommend the restaurant as a place to dine and we would return there when in Charleville once again.....

The story about the Corones Hotel was really interesting, we listened to a talk about the history of the place and the very enterprising Mr. Corones & his family, we got to see some of the rooms upstairs where several famous people stayed. The only thing not fabulous were the pumpkin scones, sadly they were pretty yucky. Maybe they could get some friendly CWA women in the kitchen.

Historic hotel worth seeing the polished timber stairwell etc. Didn't do the tour. Thought it was too expensive. Had a nice lunch there

This a very informative tour about the pioneering, entrepreneurial and imaginative Greek immigrant who contributed so much to the early Charleville, and there is much information given about the hotel itself.I recommend this tour for its information, the passion and personal connection of Rachel, our guide, and the cuppa and scones were a nice finishing touch!

Great food and friendly service. A really old and interesting place with several rooms of collectables and antiques. Hopefully the bar will get a facelift soon, but still worthwhile going to.

We had a great informative tour guide. Full of information. Lots of history tied up in that hotel. You may need to book early in peak times. Tours not run every day.

We had an enjoyable afternoon having a few drinks in the main bar and playing a few games of pool. The staff were very friendly as were the customers. We had dinner in the restaurant that evening and had a good size meal that was cooked and presented well. Service was also good.

This is a fabulous Hotel. The main big foyer area is nearly like a museum to the Hotel. Big chairs sit around the fire place, surrounded by all things interesting about the history of this place. The Hotel has equisite stained glass windows, pressed metal ceilings, character plus with friendly service. New Chef produced some delicious food, BIG portions be warned. Prices are upper end for food, but the portions mean you could share a meal. This is one lovely Hotel, worth a visit even if you don't drink or eat. A favourite of mine now!

The tour of the Hotel Corones started at 2pm and our tour guide provided an excellent insight into the life of Harry Corones who came from Greece with nothing and with hard work and ingenuity built up a great business. Our tour guide was the granddaughter of the master builder and she certainly knew the history of the building and it was very interesting place to explore and to find out who had stayed there in its heyday. The bar is apparently the longest in Queensland and is about to have some refurbishment done.At the end of our tour we had a very welcome cup of tea and delicious scones.

The tour guide was excellent and told us many interesting stories. The hotel is worn so one needs to be a bit careful walking around, but the history nd the stories are fascinating. The br is said to be the longest bar in Queensland.

A very interesting tour with lots of information about a very clever man and his ideas. Our tour guide certainly knew all the details which she imparted to us with humour. The afternoon tea was a great finish to a top afternoon. Don't miss it!!!
