The Park is located just off the Barkley Highway on the right hand side almost heading out of town. A nice little park to have a look at some of the mining and farming memorabilia which are located within the park grounds. There are some BBQ's if you wish to stop for lunch. Also on the site is the Visitor information centre where the great staff will assist you in all there is to see and do while in Cloncurry and the surrounding areas. There is also a little museum which has the unique collection of memorabilia, artefacts, and photographs from the deserted town of Mary Kathleen.

Prepare to spend a good few hours here enjoying what is a very impressive presentation of the history of the area. They have a wonderful gem and mineral collection. If you have a four wheel drive, ask to view the Trails maps, as there are some fascinating abandoned mine sites out there in the surrounding countryside to explore. There is a very reasonable entry fee, which entitles you to a two day pass to both the Museum, and John Flynn Place, which is also a must see. John Flynn Place not only gives the history of the RFDS, but also has a wonderful collection of paintings from the archives of the Earnest Henry Memorial Art Contest. If you are particularly interested in art, then there is another gallery at the Library which features paintings from the same collection. The staff in all three locations are all very friendly and ready to assist the visitor in getting the very last drop of enjoyment out of this lovely little outback town.

Had heard so much about Mary Kathleen and this Museum answered all of our questions about the mine and the town. So glad we stopped.

Set out in beautiful gardens, this memorial park and museum is a must see when in Cloncurry. An outside museum including an old rail ambulance, an historical police station, and historic photo's and memorabilia inside the information centre with information about the whole area.

The history of Mary Kathleen was fascinating but the mineral collection was truly fantastic! Loved some of the machinery in the grounds. Well worth the time and money.

It was close to the caravan park and a lovely place to wander round in the cool of the morning. We chose to walk around the grounds but not to pay to visit the museum inside the visitor centre as it was a bit outside our budget.

It's a nice place to stop. Cleanish toilets with a modern kids play park. Only thing that spoiled it a bit as some bogan a decided to let their pitbull cross loose in the park and it kept stalking our son.

In well landscaped parkland abounding in wildlife is this new museum with beautifully presented exhibits encompassing many aspects of the history of this fascinating area, from the romance of the mines to the once progressive township of Mary Kathleen and the folk who enriched their lives by staying here awhile! Complete with a gift shop and mini cafe it's a wonderful spot to escape a sweltering afternoon in this outback gem of a town. The park also has relics of farming and mining machinery over which children love to clamber and set their imaginations on fire. They can then drift across to the extensive and colourful modern playground equipment with it's nearby covered picnic tables. If you're as lucky as we were you may be serenaded by the local gent who comes to practice outback songs accompanied by his western guitar!!

The park area was great, well landscaped with some great exhibits. Unfortunately the gem collection was unavailable
