Amazing diversity in plants. Really worth taking a walk along one of the boardwalks North of the Daintree River. There really is no other rainforest like this in Australia. When I went I saw two cassowaries, which are very rare large birds, with prehistoric origins.

Went on this tour today was so looking forward to it, but due to a weather event ie cyclone hit the coast thought it might be cancelled, however it wasn't. Daintree river was swollen and flooded due to heavy rains, so we're boated up a creek to look at trees, saw one baby croc looked as though it had been placed on a branch. Viewing point was shrouded in cloud and mist so no view. Fallen trees blocked the route to Cape Tribulation so we're taken to a walk, basically a muddy swamp. This tour should have been cancelled from the outset by the tour company but it was losing bags of money due to the adverse weather. Drive and guide was excellent but you Can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. We knew what the weather was like here but this trip should have been cancelled at the outset, pure greed from the travel company. Not at all pleased and has spoiled our view of Oz.

Just fabulous rain forest, crystal clear creeks, massive ferns & great beach and costal views. Cross over from the ferry and make your way to Cape Tribulation.Plenty of stop offs and ample food and drink locales

The first time I visited (2006) was on a family trip, it was a great trip we did everything on our own. The second visit was better because my friend and I did it via tour. Great views, hikes etc!

Don't take atrip, drive yourself and take all day stopping off at various locations, beaches, view points etc etc cow bay good for lunch but watch low trees on entrance if in camper van! Only fee is ferry at $28 return - some other attractions do charge though. It takes about 90 mins driving time to get to Cape Tribulation and well worth going! Fairly narrow in places.

Really beautiful scenery. Definitely recommend it as one of the attractions to see in the Port Douglas area.

This review should serve as a warning to prospective travellers to the region between the Daintree River and Cape Tribulation. The quality of the visitor experience is incredibly variable. I would encourage all prospective travellers who are determined to successfully engage with Daintree Rainforest to click onto the website attached to the property at the top of this listing and ensure that any tendency to a more superficial passage through the landscape be avoided. Be aware that ‘Daintree’, as a tourism brand, has been stretched across an ever-widening expanse of north Queensland.

A great day out for our family - loved the dip in a local swimming hole. Saw a cassowary and tasted tropical fruit icecream.

We rented a car in Cairnes for PD stay. Nice drive up, where you take the car ferry into the National Park and explore the roads and beaches. Almost empty in the morning at beaches and stops along the way. The swimming hole was not worth it. The ice cream was totally worth it.

I wanted to visit this place after a documentary on discovery and this is equally beautiful in real as well. Millions of years old forest...it makes you feel so humble to be able to see all this. Next time I would try to stay in one of the eco-resorts in the forest.

take your time. walk, drive, look and listen. The variety of plants and animals is outstanding. You can see wild cassowaries here if you are patient and have a bit of luck on your side

Well worth visiting. I would advise planning your day and doing research if you drive yourself to cape tribulation. There are a number of short and easy bush walks through the rainforest. These exits can be easy to miss. Take an exit at Alexandra lookout to see where Daintree river meets the ocean. Stop at the cow bay pub for some good feed. We looked through the private tours and followed much of their itinerary for free. This will save you cash if you can't drop $500 for a family of four for the day. ;)

We really enjoyed this area. Completely new to us. The forest canopy is quite spectacular. Seems very off-the-beaten-track.
