Not really a beach I would recommend for people to travel to, but if you're in the area stop by as it does have Toilets/Shower/BBQ area. Nothing else too exciting.

One of finest unspoiled beaches in Queensland where walking and bird watching are the norm. Great at any time of the day but especially wonderful in the early mornings.

The tide was out so it was very nice to walk along the shore line. The beach seems to never end! Worth the trip from Hervey Bay. Bring lunch for a day trip

A trip out to Dundowran beach is a must for all visitors but check the tide chart....low tide is very disappointing as all you will see is kilometers of mud.....watch out for the nudie subakers who have an area about 1.5 kilometers east of where you parked other activities are known to happen around this area.

Dundowran is one of many beaches close to Hervey Bay - I have walked for miles along the shore and seen kites, dolphins, kangaroos, galahs and kingfisher and very few people. In fact there have been times when I have seen nobody at all. As well as Dundowran you can walk, or take your car along to Toogum Boat Ramp - where there are pelicans, kookaburras, honey-eaters, rosellas as well as the more common butcher birds, seagulls and more around. The green belt between the beach and houses ensures absolute serenity, and mid morning with the heavy silence, broken only by the sounds of birds and waves breaking on the shore make the place healing, inspirational, and creative for the soul and spirit. If you care to eat at the Boat Ramp "Goodies" is an excellent restaaurant where you can eat under cover or on the pier out over the water - the Salty Squid is also a wonderful cafe where one can always share lunch with kookaburras and other feathered friends. Truly a union with nature. The shore from Dundowran to Toogum is worth it - you be renewed, refreshed, and imbued with deep peace.

We are staying within walking distance of Dundowran Beach so a pleasant walk down the road, then followed a short concrete path through the rain forest and we arrived at the beach. It is a very long sandy beach and admit was low tide the shallows were very shallow with sandbars. Much further out we could see the waves breaking but we didn't walk that far out. The beach is dog friendly and a couple of dogs were having fun in the shallow waters. A cyclist came along the sand, walkers were in the distance and it was peaceful. It is winter, but we had a very pleasant walk to the beach in beautiful sunshine.

We visited this beach after seeing a review. Beautiful clean sand & crystal clear water. Low tide and we walked out in the shallows for such a long way. It was beautiful. Definitely for the nature lovers.

Pick a nice day, not too hot, and this is a pleasant drive with lovely views around the coast when you arrive.

My wife and I were visiting Hervey Bay and were told of a beautiful, quiet, calm and tranquil stretch of beach away from the main areas of Hervey Bay. The area is Dundowran Beach and I can assure you that this is a piece of paradise. After walking through a cute little rainforest pathway we came out onto what seems like a deserted island / stretch of beach. It was 4.45pm and the perfect time to go for a long walk as far as the eye could see, and occasionally walking in the ankle deep, clear, calm waters. At high tide this could be a magical place to swim too. A gentle breeze was blowing and a dog off in the distance was chasing a ball. No traffic, just complete calm. We sat on a bench under a beautiful low hanging tree and just enjoyed the serenity. Anyway, we love it here and our minds did too :) Am actually thinking of relocating to Hervey Bay, and if I lived anywhere it would be in this area I think. Some really nice elevated streets with ocean views too and off the main road took us 3-4 mins to drive to the small carpark at the beach. Apparently it caters for dogs off-leash too which would be handy for anyone looking to take them for an unspoilt run!

Toller Strand für endlose Spaziergänge. Tolle Sonnenuntergänge mit einem fantastischem Licht. Nicht überlaufen und sehr sauber.Eine klare Empfehlung.
