We cruise along the esplanade every day from Point Vernon to Urangan and see the most beautiful scenery. We have our special spots where we look at the ocean, where it is always different view. We overlook towards Fraser Island and in between we see yachts, fishermen, boats, fish jumping out of water, dugong, and the serenity of watching the ocean. Along the Esplanade we see bats hanging down from trees at one point. All the variety of shops and restaurants. Plenty of accommodation places including caravan parks, apartments and motels. We love cruisin along the Esplanade every day and it is different each day. We sometimes stop outside the shark exhibition and watch a regatta of colourful yachts through our binoculars.
Restful and healing location with pretty beaches and walkways. Hervey Bay is a great place for a relaxing holiday.
The Esplanade walk is great as it is mostly shaded for the day so you can walk, stroll and not suffer from the direct sunlight.
Lovely scenery and very friendly people. Lots of shade and seating to sit and enjoy the area and staff in shops extremely friendly
There is a path right along the length of Hervey Bay. My own family visited when I was a child and it was not here then so was built since then. We were able to hire some bikes and go riding but it is good for walkers and cyclists.
The Esplanade walkway and cycle path goes all the way from the tourist marina at Urangan to Point Vernon - about 10km. It has the Esplanade on one side and the beach on the other with many places to stop on the way - cafes, restaurants, clothes shops, play and exercise equipment with plenty of green shady spots, trees and picnic tables. There is the big Urangan Pier and several smaller jetties for tourists and people fishing to use. The beach is excellent for swimming and playing.
With great beaches, jetties, bike/walking path, views, cafes and parks along the Esplanade it has everything. Clean and tidy and perfect for a walk, ride or just somewhere to relax. There are plenty of Cafe's, Pubs and fast food to satisfy there is nothing better in Hervey Bay. There are also plenty of safe places to cross the road with parks and seating areas scattered along. I think I have covered everything.
The esplanade in Hervey Bay is one of the most pleasant beachfront places I know. The beach itself can't compete with those at adjacent Bargara or Rainbow Beach, let alone the Sunshine Coast, but for a pleasant esplanade it is hard to beat. Walking, cycling, exercising, entertaining the kids, the beach (as long as you catch high tide), coffee, food - it's all there.
Some of my best memories are riding along the Esplanade as a child. Still a great thing to do as a grown up, nice scenery and sea breeze. Or go for a relaxing stroll and stop at a cafe along the way. You can see dolphins turtles and whales from the esplanade walk in places at the right time of the year so keep your eyes peeled!
The Hervey BaynEsplanade is a lovely 14km long walking and bicycle track that meanders past dozens of great restaurants, fashion stores and other retail areas. I particularly love the Torquay strip whch has everything you would want to see or do while visiting Hervey Bay. Why would you bother going to the shopping centre when everything is right here, across from the beach and at prices half of what you pay elsewhere. Meter food, better fashio, better service, better parking... Torquay has it all.
The Pier Fish and Chips are to die for and are located close to the Urangan Pier. Plenty of suitable seating position on the water front with great views!
Stayed for 3 nights and went biking, walking and swimming many times a day. The biking tracks were fantastic, everyone seemed very friendly. Rode on the Urangan Pier and also right round to Point Veron. Very well kept track with lots of exercise equipment along the way, seats to have a rest and enjoy the view. Many coffee shops along the way also. Will be back
Plenty of space to walk, cycle and just generally chill out. Able to visit all the little suburbs as you meander along the path and cycleways alongside the beautiful beach
I haven't walked the entire distance , but the paths are well laid out and kept clean . Great views of the beach and bay as you walk along . Plenty of trees to give you a fair bit of cover when it's hot and sunny .
I ride this regularly when I am in Hervey Bay. It has to be on your list. If you don't have a bike - plenty of places to hire from. You must ride all the way out on the Urangan Pier while you are at it. Some bike tracks can be super-highways and dangerous and unfriendly -- NOT this one. Just remember to look after each other and ring your bell when coming up behind a pedestrian or slower cylist. Into lycra and head-down concntrated riding? Well, you can always choose to enjoy the road -- this one is for the relaxed cyclist. And so many coffee shops along the way. My favourite in in the morning - but the afternoon is nice for a shorter stroll.
