Although the trek from the car park to the lighthouse is challenging with lots of steps, the views from the lookout are incredible.Be sure to watch for turtles that are usually seen in the surf below. It is easy to mistake them for rocks at first.There is an informative tourist centre there with lots of pictures and info on the island, history, flora & fauna

Magic place, swam in the rock pools, looking out over the water you could be on the edge of the world, so peaceful and chillaxing.

The limestone lighthouse is very attractive, and the views of the exceptional east coast beach gorgeous. Be sure to look down and try to spot sting rays and turtles (we weren't there during the season for the whales, but they show up as well)..

Took a small tour. 4 hours and it was awesome. Loved the turtles in the ocean, there were so many of them. Went to the Blue Lagoon had a cool swim. Burnt our feet on the sand lol

You will need a 4wd or tour guide to take you. Once there it's only a 10 minute walk up some stairs for the best view on the island. If you are lucky you can see turtles, dolphins and whales (during the season). Make sure you follow the track around as it loops around the western side showing some great beaches and views.A must visit location on the island!

You need a 4WD to come from Tangalooma to this location.You can bring your own 4wd to this island ond the Mycat will drop you of by the wrecks at tangalooma, from there it is about 1 1/2 hrs to the cape, depending on conditions. defenitely a proper 4WD not a all wheel drive SUV is required, as a considerable distance is travelled on the beach with fresh water streams running into the ocean.(caution crossing these)

The museum at the base of the lighthouse is by my wife's description, "world class". It is contained within the long required assistant lighthouse keepers quarters and is very interesting and informative. There is also a kiosk, manned by volunteers from the National Parks and Wildlife who are very well informed about the all aspects of the Island.

Loved the whole day!! The Guide/driver lives on the island so had good local knowledge. A really good day out with morning tea included!

As with most attractions, you need to walk from the carpark… Once there, the views are breath takings

You can't go into this lighthouse, but you have to see it and the views from the top. At the right time of year (June-nov) you'll see the whales going past. The information centre is definitely worth a visit, lots a photos and history of the island in here. There is no cost to seeing the lighthouse, but you can make a donation at the information centre that goes towards preserving the lighthouse. While you at the top end check out the beaches, large nesting colonies of sea birds including pelicans will be meters from your car. Our school aged kids loved the lighthouse and rolling on the sand dunes set the northern point of the track that goes around the lighthouse grounds. The roads are pretty hard and bumpy up to the lighthouse, but not too bad. If approaching the lighthouse from the east coast there's a reasonably steep one-lanes track that takes you up from the beach, worthwhile checking no ones about to come down on top of your rig, some people don't keep there radios on. Great fishing spot in the north alcove where you turn off, you can't miss it cause you turn off when the beach stops at the cliff.

Great view and a good information center. You have a good chance of seeing whales during the migration. There are clean toilets there.

Whale watching cruise was excellent. Saw many whales and enjoyed following them.4WD tour of northern end of island was also excellent, as was the nightly dolphin feeding sessions

Not too far to walk and the best views I have ever seen!! You can see dolphins and sea turtles frequently, we didn't see any whales but you can sometimes. Toilets available. Amazing experience!!

give you a fabulous picture of the north end of the island from east to west. the story behind it is rather incredible too.

Try to take your own 4 wheel drive as tours can be expensive when booked through the Resort. Great spot for photos .
