paradine estate winery

We were on a coach tour which took in a stop at this winery. The cellar was in a small but pleasant cabin with a verandah which had sweeping views across to Mt Walker and to the Teviot Range. Inside we had tastings of the wines that they produced there from a fairly new small vineyard that is found in the village of Harrisville up on a hill. We also had tastings of chutneys and chocolate rocks which is part of their supplies of chocolates made in Brisbane. Be aware of the naughty ones! Those that did not drink wine had a cup of coffee and we all browsed around the interesting gifts that could be bought with some coming away with some and wine, chocolates and port. The ambience is a drawcard as the cottage has that old Aussie cabin look with the rusted tin roof and a wine barrel props up a table. It is possible to buy an antipasta plate and sit on the verandah, taking in the fresh air and unwinding from the rush of Brisbane City. The tastings were free. It was very hard to pull the group away!
