Westfield Garden City had a recent refurbishment, and when inside looks modern and it has many interesting stores, outside the parking is still a nightmare. Not much planing in the parking.Inside it has different food courts including "8 Street" a food court specialized in Asian street food. They also have a new Al fresco food court with great restaurants and large range of options for everyone. They also but some good effort in making kids and their parents happy while shopping with 2 little indoor playgrounds.
Good range of shows, but the layout is a bit restrictive. Personally I like a big long Mall, ad I usually only frequent these outlets for present shopping. Allows one to start at one end & easily browse all the outlets.
Well apart from the kilometers of under cover parking, the extensive array of shops and lots of aisle space why would you not be happy at the shops??$5 valet parking! More Asian vendors in the 8 Street food court with awesome meals for $11.90. Why would you not be happy? A free play centre for the kids! Why would you not be happy?
Can't believe that a large shopping centre has such poor parking signage. We were trying to find a pay station with little success. It was like trying to play the game Where's Wally in trying to find our car. Why can't the centre (in fact all the Westfield centres) have a better system of numbering the car parks? After all they are charging for it after 3 hours. Trying to get to Office Works was another exercise in map reading. We followed the directions and was appalled at how dangerous it was. Come on Westfield, pull your socks up and get the basics right!
I have been twice with my beautiful in two weeks like a shopping centre is huge ,the new parking is good is for free for 3 hours but they don't have numbers so it's easy to get lost ,coffees shops r good but food section I'm sorry not interesting at all very boring ,clothing shops are good but not sure if they r overpriced ,in general I'll go back but still believe is ok !!
I've been going to this shopping centre for about 8 years and it just keeps getting better since there was a huge renovation a couple months ago. Overall this is just a great shopping centre with every single shop you can think of.
Coffee hit is full of friendly staff & great food, the shopping center now has myer, target, lush, skechers, noosa chocolate factory, Top Chef & even starbucks let not forget kmart & JBHIFI too name a few. But Donut king out the front of woolworths missed the helpful and good customer service memo thou.
So many new shops and the new decor is quite unique too. Worth a visit if you usually go to Carindale Westfield.
We do not live nearby. So we had NO idea that we dropped into Garden City on the opening weekend of their latest extension. And the only benefit of that was that there were staff, everywhere, directing confused people. The new car park is a spaghetti mash of twisting. There is ABSOLUTELY NO SIGNAGE in the new car park to show where to get into the shopping centre. The posts in the new car park say you are on B1 but it doesn't show you which part of B1. I have never, ever been in a shopping centre car park that was so big that I couldn't see which way to go before my visit to Garden City. There was ONE lift working from B1 to the shopping centre. It was reserved for people with prams or those with shopping trolleys. So we were funneled into a fire escape to walk the two storeys up to the 'real world'. One lift? For a car park bigger than I've ever been in before? That is not something that can be easily rectified. Who thought of that?Maybe the locals will love the sparkly new shops. But they can keep it as I was disgusted by how user 'unfriendly' it was from the moment we drove into the car park and that was before we snaked through the car park to find a space (EVERY aisle should have a spaces available quantity!), walked a mile to find a lift, went up flights of steps in the fire escape, found ourselves at the opposite end of the building from where we needed to be and then walked and walked and walked and walked to get to our destination. And how long did it take from us driving in to get to what we needed? Nearly an hour!! Totally ridiculous and not happy at all!
