There's always something interesting to see at GOMA. It's well worth your time to visit as there is usually a visiting exhibition. GOMA is easy to access, provides guidance through information sites, offers food and souvenir purchase opportunities.
A varied selection of art and culture in this gallery and with helpful and knowledgeable staff and with a good cafe to relax in afterwards.
A good gallery for modern art and special installations that require a feeI like it as it can be free if you avoid special installations
Absolutely love visiting GoMA whenever I'm in Brisbane. There is usually a fantastic exhibition on and always activities for the kids to do. Set next to Kurilpa Bridge its just a hop skip and jump away from Queen St shops and the beautiful restaurants along the river. I have spent many hours in here and love any excuse to visit again, and again.
Always enjoy going to GOMA to see the free exhibits. Always interesting and interactive (that's what I prefer!). Would recommend for teenagers and young adults to enjoy!
Great FREE PLACE TO VISIT. the gallery houses some excellent pieces of art and sculpture. I'm not an arty person, but really enjoy the diffrent forms of art and the skill and mindset these artists have. Perfectly situated in brisbanes Southbank precinct ,the gallery sits alongside the museum and across from the city. Definately recommended to those who want to see something different, especially when they host different exhibitions.
This is a great place to take visitors to Brisbane. There is always a variety of art to see which usually meets everyone's taste. The location is spectacular and the view of the Brisbane River is fabulous from the upper levels. Great for kids too, with lots of activities. Not all exhibitions have an entry fee, so it can be a really good free thing to do. I would recommend taking a jumper/jacket, as I always find it incredibly cold in there.
It's a good place to go when you can't do anything else on a rainy day. It's nice but unfortunately not very much of a must-see.
There was so much to explore in the museum. Something was available to interest each and every age group!
have been visiting GOMA for years and have seen many different exhibitions. Lots of fresh modern displays, teamed with long term articles makes for a great day. Interactive exhibitions are great for kids, and adults alike as hands on activities are often provided. Excellent gallery.
Often nice travelling exhibits although building laid out like a multi-story nuveaux open plan office complex. Museum is located at Southbank. One of the most nightmarishly expensive and difficult places to park in the world, in a city with one of the top 5 most costly parking globally.Train and bus stations nearby.....for public transport that is SCSI some of the most expensive in the world. The poor museum is located with a city with extraordinarily poor planning and mind-numbingly costly and poorly organised parking and public transport.
Always very well presented displays and things to do and/or see. Good PR and helpful staff. Allow at least 2 hours.
Great range of exhibits; china, decorative arts, paintings etc. Really enjoyed the breadth and depth of the exhibits.... An hour or so is plenty of time to see it all and entry is free.
GoMA is great - really fascinating collections covering Australian artworks, including a thought-provoking selection of Indiginous artists, and some exhibitions of global works (when I visited, the Madonna Staunton collections and Japanese post-1989 exhibitions were running, both of which were excellent. The South Bank complex is a really well-designed space, and the gallery attendants are very helpful. In all, a beautiful space thoughtfully curated!
