I had been looking forward to visiting the widest waterfall in Victoria for some time. Much to my surprise it's located in an unspectacular setting. Basically beside a bridge on a farming property 14km from town. (entry coming from town needs to be more defined) Yes I would suggest you drive out to see the falls, it's right next to the car park, a 100 metre set of steps gives you a look from the ground. These falls certainly are not highest but the widest. The surrounds although including a BBQ and toilet facilities look like the sight - they need a make over. Did not meet my expectations. A positive were the two camera mounts strategically located to get couples with self timers on their cameras into the picture. Judge this one for yourself.
Plenty of space in the carpark, not far to walk to see the falls via observation decks. however deff worth the walk to the bottom.
Nice little waterfall not far from Warrnambool city centre. Kids enjoyed. Dont expect to see a massive waterfall.
A lovely waterfall with some interesting plaques to read, several lookouts that are all very short walks from the car park and a public toilets onsite also. We stopped by whilst driving between Warrnambool and Peterborough and it was a short detour and definitely worth it.
The falls can be seen from vantage points not too far from the carpark, but it is worth the short walk to the bottom the track for the best view and some photos that will look like postcards. I dont think you could take a bad photo here if you tried. It is surrounded by bushland and farms, and it is so peaceful it is easy to visualise locals 100 year back gathering by the falls for a feast or fun outing. It is near Allansford so not far out of Warrnambool. Worth a visit if you are in the area. I saw after we visited that it was rated in the top 5 waterfalls in a Victorian newspaper travel section. I would agree with that rating.
Great viewing spectacle especially when the Hopkins is in flood as the water cascades over the falls.
Nice spot for a peaceful picnic and short walk down to the falls. Not the most spectacular falls, but certainly pleasant and worth the short drive from warrnambool. Nice countryside surrounding too.
Lovely spot, but not much water, so not the most magnificent water falls I have ever seen. But nice facilities and a nice drive out to the country
This is quite a nice spot for a short visit. The falls were good to see. Although, they weren't in full flow when we visited in January. There were also toilets here and a table & chairs, so it would have made a nice picnic spot. There was a very short walk down to a viewing area at the base of the falls. There was a camera stand here where you could you prop your camera to take timed photos in front of the falls, which I thought was a nice touch.
