Tarra-Bulga National Park is a gem in Victoria. Accessible with normal car the tracks are easy and well signposted. The tall Mountain Ash forests are some of the best in Victoria, with trees up to 65 metres in height, along with pockets of Beech rainforest. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

All the walks are accessible, uncrowded and interesting. Walk as little or as much as you wish, regardless of fitness.

This is a superb national park to visit close to Traralgon & Yarram, Gippsland, Victoria & in the Strzelecki Range. There are cool forest picnic areas & several walking tracks from a short 400m to 2,4km with breathtaking views taking in a rain forest, suspension bride or waterfalls depending on the walks you take. The fern & giant mountain ash trees are magnificent to see.The drive I took was from Yarram via the Tarra valley rd to Balook returning on the bulga park rd was an interesting experience with very twisty narrow roads but worth every kilometer. Just take your time & relax. This is certainly a journey to enjoy & not just a destination.

Sub tropical rainforest in the strazlecki mountain range of south Gippsland region of Victoria Australia.There are many beautiful walks along tree fern covered tracks, lovely flowing creeks and rivers, water falls and towering Mountain Ash trees. There is an abundance of bird life and they will happily join you for a feed in the beautiful picnic areas of the park. Highly recommended.

Great place for a visit. Beautiful surroundings. Lots of different paths to take. Suspension bridge is great. Lovely place for a picnic. Plenty of room for the kids to run around. Decent walking tracks. Well worth the visit.

Tried to find the park from the Grand Ridge Road ( coming from the west ) but could not find one sign to show where the park was . Travelled over 100 K in bad weather on slipper narrow tracks.

A beautiful national park to visit. Ferns and tall trees gallore. Suspension bridge, beautiful walks through the forest and waterfalls. A great drive following the river. Saw lyrebirds on my visit.

Lovely shortish walk to the suspension bridge which is well worth a visit. Driving through the park to the bridge was very pretty.

Park near the information centre. Head towards the bridge and you will be rewarded with amazing ferns. Saw three lyrebirds in the wild and heard many more.

What a great set of walks within the park. We spent the afternoon trying a couple but need more time. Recommend to all.

We didn't even know this park existed and came across it while 'exploring' parts of south Gippsland. We came through the Tarra Valley and did the beautiful rainforest walk there. That whole valley is just gorgeous. Who would have expected a rain forest this far south!At the Tarra-Bulga National park, we walked from the car park near the Visitor's Centre down to the suspension bridge and did the big loop going across the bridge and returning on a different path. The spring wild flowers were lovely, the mountain ash trees so tall and majestic, and the tree-ferns etc all beautiful. If we had been staying nearer we would have stayed longer. This is a perfect picnic spot. Hope to return sometime.

This place is certainly a jewel and a walk in the Rainforest here is always an awesome experience. Any season can be a great time to visit. The towering Mountain Ash, giant Tree-ferns and ancient Cool Temperate Forest are a constant feature. Also seasonally, Colourful Fungi in Autumn, Lyrebirds Calling in Winter, Spring Flowers and Beautiful Cool Shade in Summer are all reasons to visit. There is some great information available too. The Parks Visitors centre is staffed by friendly volunteers from the Friends of Tarra Bulga on weekends and school holidays and they also have great information online. The Friends Group have a Facebook Page facebook.com/tarrabulga and a Blog http://tarrabulga.wordpress.com/ that has heaps of information about the plants and animals that can be spotted.

What a beautiful drive through spectacular rainforest with the huge tall trees and the abundance of tree ferns. Short walks through the forest including a very stable swing bridge. Great for a few hours entertainment. We then drove along the ridge road which was not as well kept but was a lovely drive. Picnic or drive through it was a very beautiful little corner of old rainforest.

This gorgeous and unspoilt sub temperate rainforest area, must be seen to be believed... Many pockets of ancient tree ferns and gorgeous old trees... The walking tracks are well maintained can be a little slippery after heavy rain..The natural bush smells and birdsong esp of the lyre bird will leave you feeling very revitalised..Its a photographers version of heaven with many photographic opportunites...The Lyrebird ridge track is probably one of my favourite tracks and leads to a suspension bridge.. The easiest way to reach this park is via Traralgon as the road even though windy isnt too bad, for those who dont get car sick and have lots of time on their hands I would reccommend taking the longer route along the Grand Ridge Rd... Most of the latter way is unsealed, its is very windy and you cant travel too fast but its a lovely trip...

We loved quietly strolling through this gorgeous pocket of rainforest thankfully preserved! Beautiful gullies of tree ferns. Pristine and serene - it made of a very peaceful and rejuvenating experience.
