It's the most fascinating place. and if you go when the barrel cactus are flowering - incredible..As one other reviewer said you go there to see natures wonders not a glitzy "SeaWorld experience"it's greatBe sure to take your camera
It's fascinating how many types of cactus here, especially when they are in flower. Well worth a visit. To be honest, the building and cafe is a bit tired, but I went there to see the immense array of cactuses, not a glitzy cafe or SeaWorld extravaganza.
Completely unexpected corner on Murray River Valley - huge cactus garden, beautiful art arrangement, cacti cake, and even honey! Great landscape and care, nice seating in shade and soulful talks around.
Driving to the front door it looked like this place was abandoned.Even the sign out on the highway was knocked down flat.Once inside it was much the same with many unfinished or part finished displays, with dusty and dirty surrounds, with junk scattered around. Admission price was reasonable. The cactus garden itself was a great experience, with such a wide variety over an extensive area. The organic coffee and cactus cake was excellent. The place could be amazing if it was cleaned up / neatened up, displays finished and just a lot overall maintenance completed. Some books, magazines or information for purchase along with the plant sales would also be helpful.
We stopped here thinking it was just a cactus garden but it turned out to be 10 acres of amazing cacti. We mainly went to purchase a couple for our home so didn't pay the $10 entry fee which I thought was a bit hefty as we would not have had the time to walk around the large area.
I had no idea there were so many different cacti.Amazing. It was interesting watching the finches, wrens & wagtails flying into their favourite nesting places. They were totally unihibited by the spikes & prickles. The cactus cake in the cafe was yummy
Something you will never see again. I don't think there is anything like this anywhere else. The tour was very good, even though you do it yourself and you are reading from a folder. There is so many different types of cactus.
Not to be missed when the cacti are in flower, the variety of colour and form is remarkable. It would also be interesting at other times for the range of size and shape of the plants.
We visited here on a recent trip to Numurkah and were amazed at what we saw. From the road it does not look very exciting but close up it is awesome. There are thousands of cacti and succulents to look at and purchase. I have never seen such a variety of cacti of all shapes and sizes. There were lots of cacti in flower at the time which added to the wonderful display. Even if you are not into cacti it is well worth a visit.
After seeing a blurb on one of the lifestyle shows, we eventually made it to Cactus Country via a road trip to Wodonga. Given that both my husband and myself love cacti, we had the best fun ever, meandering around and playing with the camera, and we would thoroughly recommend a visit to anyone in the area.
Great place to visit, fascinating cactus garden with a very wide variety. Great coffe and friendly staff!
