Just returned from a 6 night stay with our 7 & 8 year old children. The campsite is spotless throughout. We had a site right next to the river and despite what other reviewers have said I didn't think those sites were too cramped, certainly no smaller than usual big 4 standards. The cafe does a good coffee, we also had pizza one lunchtime and breakfast another. The breakfast was terrific although the kids choices were a bit limited. Its walking distance into town, there are many shops and places to eat - we ate at Tellers on a Tuesday night ($16 T-bone steak night) it was superb and they had a very good kids menu too. Theres also a golf club nearby over the river that has a kids playground and has a courtesy bus shuttle (others said the food there was good but we didn't find out about it until too late!)The campsite has a lovely pool, jumping pillow and kids games room, the family bathroom is massive with a full size bath, shower and double sink. In fact all of the bathroom facilities were impressive, spacious, spotlessly clean and with enough pegs to actually hang your stuff up even if you have a kid with you! While there technically isn't a playground on the site there are two playgrounds and a basketball court on the land directly next to the site (no road to cross). The fishing was fantastic, we caught a heap of carp, cod and a catfish and a perch on our site. Check the regulations before you do though as many fish are protected and must be returned to the water or are pests and cant be returned! JC's fishing shop up the highway was very friendly and knowledgable. There isn't much to do in and around Swan Hill the pioneer village was good for a day or two out (you get two days for the price of one). We went for a bushwalk, visited the art gallery (tiny but nice enough) and spent a very happy afternoon fishing and lazing by the side of Lake Boga.Overall, we had a really lovely stay in the september school hols, it was sunny, stress-free and we would all go back without hesitation. There were no flies (but maybe thats just because its only just warmed up). Also despite it being quite busy at the campsite, it didn't feel busy, we never had to queue for anything, there was always a poolside bed free and the campsite was quiet on an evening.Highly highly recommend for families with kids as well as couples young and old.
Stayed for 4 nights in a riverfront cabin. The cabin was immaculate in cleanliness and a joy to just sit on the balcony and listen to the birds. The surrounds are beautiful and very quiet. It's very close to town which is handy but there is also a great little restaurant on the grounds that is an absolute treat where most of the food is home made and welcomes families. The cabin we stayed in was not cheap but having said that I cannot recall having stayed in a better setup one than this! Forget the cost, just sit back enjoy the river!! All the staff here are great as well, Good on you Team Riverside.
Very clean park in beautiful surroundings. As new grey nomads who used to caravan with the family, we found the facilties clean and enjoyable; and if you fish there's the Murray. But we just relaxed and walked.
