The sheer size and number of exhibits. Excellent assistance and information provided by staff. Setting out of all exhibits is to a high standard.
They have done a wonderful job putting the collection together with good informative commentary. It covers a diverse range of Army activity both historically and across the many corps and organisational component, all very well arranged. I spent a good three hours there. That was just on the inside of the museum as the outside exhibits are currently closed due to a higher level of security activated.
During School Holidays the children explored everything army!! We spent most of a day there 2 boys and 2 girls had such an amazing time!!
This museum would have to be the best military museum outside of Canberra. It is very easy to spend many hours there on the presentation of the exhibits is first class. If you are visiting Wodonga then this museum should be on your 'to do' list.
anything and everything Army is on display. Volunteers with army experience are on hand to explain anything you want to know
fantastic museum. A lot of history under one roof. If you are into military history this is the place to see. Don't miss it.
This Museum is situated within the army barracks at Bandiana just outside Wodonga. The museum is full of army memorabilia from most wars and it is easy to spend a few hours wandering around. The price is cheap and it is money well spent. This is the largest and most diversified Military Museum in Australia. There are guns, tanks, vehicles, motor cycles, uniforms, medals and much, more to see and do
What a great find, its not Canberra but it is well on the way. A great collection and must for any army buff.
This is a must see museum. You can spend hours here as there's so many exhibits. There is a small entrance fee but certainly worth it.
We were told about this museum as a MUST SEE to visit. The display was awesome and VERY interesting for young and old! With lots of history display and army equipment that was used during the wars. There is also a little shop for souvenirs.
Basically a museum for the RAAOC this has an excellent collection of vehicles and memorabilia from conflicts the Australian Army has served in. There are also small collections from other support units such as the Catering Corps & Apprentice Schools.
An hour by train from London was the only setback to what is a great day out. Tickets must be ordered in advance as they cannot be purchased there or on the day as it is booked out weeks ahead. 3 hours is the min time that you should allow to see everything and that only lets you have a quick look and if you are a HP fan that is not enough so try to get an early booking entrance time. Be prepared to take lots of photos.if visiting London this is a must see attraction.
Great military museum which covers Australia's involvement in conflicts from late 1800's to present. Restored vehicles, uniforms, weapons, medals and loads of other memorabilia from the actual conflicts. Staff give out maps of display locations. This museum is a must see if you're in the area or nearby. A moving experience. Very small entry fee with Seniors discount....
You need to spend a few hours to really take in the vast array of military displays and products. Highly recommend taking school age children as they will appreciate the displays of military vehicles etc as well as learn about our history.
So much to see and experience, a must for all visitors to visit, you will need a few hours to truly experience the displays and information available. The Volunteers are to be applauded for their many hours to put this together.
