Really easy access and a short drive out of Warburton. A great way to see the Australian bush from the canopy level
Whilst there are quite a few steps which may make it difficult for some people, it is all worth it. Just don't rush take your time and enjoy the different levels on the rainforest. Easy to park and great wildlife to view.
I have been here twice - once in late winter, and the other time in summer, and as expected it was more green and beautiful in winter. If you enjoy forest walks then I would also recommend the walking track behind Warburton caravan park, which is only a short drive away - the track follows the river and includes some gorgeous scenery (see my second photo).
Wander through the tree canopy, then descend to the forest floor, amongst majestic Mountain Ash, Beech Myrtle and tree ferns. Breathe in the fresh, damp mountain air and listen to the bird songs and babbling waters. Stand still and watch the tiny fairy wrens as the flit amongst the undergrowth. Sensory overload!
Just a lovely little town with a great history, eateries, Tea Houses, and the beautiful Yarra River runs right behind the town.
I trained park rangers for many years and this is an excellent place in Upper Yarra to be very close to tall montain ash and beech myrtle. To be closed to tree ferns and Cement Creek as well. The interpretation signs are so well thought out and beautifully presented in keeping with the indigenous culture and spiritual themes.Board walks are great, designed and engineered very well.
Beautiful short boardwalk through the rainforest; you'll be amazed by how huge some of the tree trunks are! A nice short walk for the whole family.
What a fabulous way to spend 45 minutes. This place is about half way between Warburton and the Donna Buang summit. You can simply stroll out onto the treetop landing which is quite an experience in itself, or take the very scenic forest floor circuit walkway past towering forest trees and babbling brooks. A wonderfully presented place and a memorable experience.
I loved the view from the air-walk overlooking the rainforest. The only negative is that it can be a little difficult to spot the entrance to the air-walk which is not at the car park, but a short way down the road.
I have visited this area many times with various different people. It is a beautiful area and the walkways make it accessible without damaging the plant life. There are several steps so it is not suitable for someone with a disability. The walkways take you through this rain forest with signage about the different plants and trees. It is worth a visit .
completely beautiful but don't go there if you have difficulty with steps best photo time would be around middaywe were the at four and photos a bit dark
A beautiful rain forest walk set in Mt Donna Buang. This lovely 10 -15 min walk talks you on a journey through a well signed temperate rain forest. You can choose to walk the sky walk which sits at around 15 metres off the ground or go down the steps and around the board walk circut to view the waterfalls and beautiful big old trees and ferns. If you love the bush you will love this walk.
The view was excellent. The steps were in a bit of disrepair when we went due to a bent floor grille. This was cordoned off, but was slightly worrying.
Easy walk in amongst the canopy. 15 metres above the ground - fantastic to look up and admire the massive mountain ash trees and then down to the glorious ferns. Great photo shots.Would definately return if in the area.
We did the La La falls walk from Warburton which was a great walk for young family, our 6 and 9 year olds walked easily. Next stop rainforest gallery, the kids loved it, very beautiful old trees, educational too! Can then continue up to summit of Donna buang for picnic. Recommend!
