Great panoramic view of Apollo Bay. the road up the hill is narrow and curvy, but the view makes it worth the drive.
We took a picnic up to the top of the lookout. It was a bit breezy but not too bad if you are wearing warm clothes. It had been raining in the morning, so there was a lot of water running down the steep pathway up to the lookout, which meant we got our shoes quite wet :(
When in Apollo Bay you must do this, it shows the whole town , you feel so high you have a magnificent view
This is a fantastic place to visit whilst in Apollo Bay. Its only about a five minute drive to the carpark and then a further five minute walk. It is free and the views are spectacular! I would highly recommend this!!
We walked up to this lookout from the beach. It can be quite steep in places, but it is a road most of the way and you can drive up to the carpark and then walk 10 minutes to the lookout. The view across Apollo Bay, the Otways and down the coast is suberb.
A short drive and then a short steep walk uphill on path. The views are well worth the effort of the walk. Stunning views over the town and across the jetty.
Drive up the lookout road and park, before a short stroll up to the hillside looking right out over Apollo Bay and Marengo. The view was outstanding at sunset. I have visited the lookout many times in the past, however never in the evening. Highly recommended.
This is well worth visit, great drive up the hill behind Apollo Bay to the track to the top. Fabulous donation of the land for the lookout and the walking track.
My friend knew about this jewel of a view... In fact, initially we made the wrong turn and happened on Goats of Gaia Soap Co. (Reviewed separately.) On our second attempt we made the correct turn and parked up the hill. A lovely walk through private property led us to this stunning viewpoint from above. If you're in town for a bit, make sure a local gives you directions!
We were told by the Apollo waterfront motor inn staff that this was not to be missed and how grateful we were that they shared their local expertise. This site is not well signposted from the main road but is reached via a left turn towards the east end of the village. It is a very steep drive, especially the last section which is effectively a single track road so care needs to be taken. Small car park leads to a well defined path up to the hill top. This is not really suitable for wheelchairs, buggies might make it though towards the top but the lower sections of the path are sealed. The view from the top on the bright, clear day we visited was magnificent. Well worth the effort of finding it and finishing the climb to get the view.
Surprisingly easy to reach. Grassy bank at the top with an excellent view over Apollo Bay and the coastline. Would recommend taking a light camping chair and a picnic on a nice sunny day
Great seating outside over looking the ocean. Free jugs of water just inside the door. Excellant wifi...and wonderful falafels
We really had fun walking up the small mountain & get the spectacular views of the bay. Kids were so excited to see the entire Apollo Bay town from the top. We didn't knew that we could do Kite surfing from this spot but will definitely try that next time we are here.
We saw the sign post on the way back to our accommodation at Skene's Creek near Apollo Bay. So we thought we would go and explore. Worth the small drive up a very steep hill. Got to the top where there was a carpark (private land) and started the 10 minute walk to the top. A little steep in patches but absolutely worth the walk. Great 360 degree views of the surrounding coast from Skene's creek to Apollo Bay. AWESOME!!!
Wie generell auf der Great Ocean Road sollte man auch diesen Lookout keinesfalls verpassen. Er bietet eine tolle Aussicht auf die von den Wellen geprägte Küstenlandschaft ....
