It was about 35 degrees so we drove instead of walked. Guilty as charged. However, it's a great viewpoint, and peaceful and deserted when we were there. Certainly added to our experience of York.
York is apretty quiet town. Hence, we decided to give this look out a try. It's free anyway! The place was very windy and it offers awesome views. It was nice to just sit there and feel the time pass by:)
Worth driving up here for a view out over the Avon Valley. On a clear day it's possible to see all the farms far into the distance. A vehicle is necessary though as it's a few kilometres from town.
Great views, no one for miles. I drove from Perth just to photograph the location at sunset to add to my collection. I sat there from around 4.30 till sunset at 7.00 . So relaxing! Few Kangaroos hopping by, peace and quiet. Highly reccomend it.See my photograph i have attached
Gotta go for a look. A great view and the history of Mt Brown is fascinating. I Got a great perspective of your Aussie ancestors.
Perfect 360• lookout point. Worth a visit if you wanna see the whole area in in view!!Think the sunset must be awesome here!!
Mt Brown has a very good view over the town and surrounding countryside. Fantastic sunset. after t)h3 sun went down the light clouds were beautiful shades of pink and gold.
Beautiful view over the far fields, stunning at sunset and best seen with a bottle of champers! Don't forget the camera!
Access to the lookout and the wonderful view from it. Enjoyed the vista which is quite different from our home town.
Stay at The York Lily Retreat on top of MT Brown and a short walk across is the lookout, Has a full view of the historic town of York. Really nice this time of year as you can see all the golden yellow canoli fields and the Avon Valley which is lush green at the moment.
There are also lovely wild flowers to find on Mt Brown, orchids, everlastings and lots more. There is also a picnic area with free BBQ and loo.
A really good way to get an idea of the layout of the town. Much bigger than I thought. The lookout was clean and easy to access. There was some information about the historical side of things.
We have visited York twice now and every time we do, it always seems to rain of a bluster wind howls through the valley. This visit was no exception. But Mount Brown offers stunning views of the York district. Great for a photo or two. Thee is a BBQ area just below the summit which I can imagine would be fantastic in hotter months.
Lovely view on a nice day. Very peaceful. Only takes you 2 mins to drive up the hill. Great for taking photos and sitting on the rocks.
We were blessed with the most beautiful site of the clouds surrounding the town of York, it was a view I will remember for many many years.
