弗里曼特尔监狱

费利曼图镇以著名的英国殖民监狱而得以发展，监狱与自由是对应的概念，身体不自由而思想自由让这里艺术可展现，有一个监社的墙上全是漂亮的艺术作品，充满传奇故事，可以租借一个自己国家语言的收音器去了解！

这个监狱的建立也是Fremantle得以发展的重要原因，这里1991年已经关闭，现在是旅游景点，票价不便宜，但是中国人值得来走走，有导游耳机中文服务，充满故事的监狱，值得一看！

这个地方的历史让人惊奇,不久前,刚有男士停在这里。。。工作人员知道该讲些什么已引起你兴趣。。。很棒。。。

前段时间,我和我爱人参加了弗里曼特尔监狱一日游,感觉很不错。导游对这座监狱了如指掌,还知道关于它的很多事情,在监狱停止运作以前,他还在那工作过。这段旅程很值得,真的很有意思,看到了各种不同年代的监牢,你可以知道过去犯人的关押环境。监牢墙上的原创艺术尤其引人注目,外墙的艺术涂鸦也很漂亮。价格很合理,整段旅程都可以拍摄照片和摄影。

Hi Cagsey, Thank you for taking the time to post your review.I am glad you enjoyed your tours but am sorry you felt your Tour Package ran for too long. The package is designed to be flexible, with visitors able to redeem their second tour ticket anytime within a two week period. I am assuming based on your experience you completed the tours back to back. As the tours run for 1.25 hours each the 3 hour running time can be a little too much for some however we feel that shortening the tour length would be detrimental to those who choose only to complete one tour.We hope to see you again in the future - perhaps only for one tour though..!

Hi Demii G,Thank you for taking the time to post your review.I am so glad you enjoyed your tour.We like to think a visit to Fremantle Prison encourages children to be law abiding citizens, although we have tried to reduce the amount of 'terrifying' and keep this restricted to our Torchlight Tours - not for the faint hearted..!

More than just a prison. Fantastic insight into Fremantle and its past. The tunnels are an awesome experience. Be prepared for a climb down (ladder of about 6 rungs) to the tunnels. Guides are very knowledgeable. Note that reasonable priced parking is at a premium. Rangers are on the lookout for every dollar they can.

You'll learn a bit more about Australia's convict past and be impressed in the art gallery at the end of your visit.

Not only have visited here and done tours, but had my wedding reception here. Fantastic experience with lots of history, gives you an idea of how prisoners lived. Recommend the tunnel tour as well - unless you are scared of small spaces.

Fremantle prison was awesome. The place is huge and our tour guide was brilliant. The only thing to be aware of is that the car park is council run so you have to pay and the council rangers hang around knowing that people will most likely over stay their ticket. Be aware of that.

What a great night at the prison... well worth a tour if planning a trip to Frrmantle. Won't give away anything but being a night tour makes it quite gloomy and eerie (especially if it's windy & raining) and this adds to the atmosphere Our great tour guide James made it an informative memorable night. We are looking forward to the tunnel tour now. Highly recommended! Well done Fremantle Prison

This prison closed in 1991, not that long ago. Its history is amazing. Our guide was very informative. We arrived as it opened and did the general tour. Our guide told us that the vote carried to save it by just 2 votes instead of building a department store on the site. Good save, would have been such a shame to demolish such an important part of Australian history.

We had a trolleybus/ prison package which picked us up from our hotel. Without spoiling the experience suffice to say a must do whilst in Freo as it captures a major part of the history of this town.

We did the 1 Hr 15 mins prison tour which took us all through the prison. Colin our guide was great, knew his history and threw in a few laughs along the way. Recommend it for the entire family.
