An early colonial period house, with separate kitchen, furnished with some original pieces and other items of the period. The grounds were not really a garden--rather sparse after a very dry summer. The caretaker gave us a detailed history of the area and the families who lived there--interesting and informative. Apparently there are not many visitors, which is a pity since it is well worth an hour or so. Check opening times before you go.
