A must see if you're in the Denmark region. Exceeded expectations. Can't quite believe how much they look like elephants!
Stunning scenery, stunning rock formations. Make sure you take the time to walk down the steps, where you can walk between two giant rocks and onto a little beach with huge rocks but safe for swimming.
This place is a must visit in William Bay NP. It's within walking distance from Greens Pool and they both are famous places to visit in this NP. You must come here to witness the peculiar rocks. They are magnificent. When we were there, it was very cold and windy but it was still nice to enjoy everything. The rocks live up to its name. They do look like elephants. Nature does wonder! You must also climb down the stairs all the way down and walk through the small gap between rocks which will reveal to you another small sheltered bay that is absolutely quite a place. Walking through this gap is another experience cos you can only cross when the water is not too high and you have to wait til the waves subside then you quickly walk before the waves come back or your pants will get wet. That's why don't wear long pants, wear shorts. And please take off your shoes. You're at the beach. You won't need it :-) Getting your feet wet is what the experience is all about. The rocks formations will blow your mind away. You must visit this place or you will be sorry
When you drive up to the beach, along William bay Rd you reach a T junction. Right takes you to Mazzalotti Beach & Greens Pool (great snorkeling), Left takes you to Elephant Rocks and further left to Waterfall Beach. All are worth the visit !!
What an extraordinary place. Everything about it exudes power and natural magic. The rock pools offer protected fishing and diving but the the location known as Elephant Rocks is a must see. Do these smooth massive rocks actually look like elephants? To me they resembled a pod of whales nudging up to the shore but I can see why others see elephants in a heard looking out to sea. Pick a day with northerly or even NW winds for the best experience. South or SE winds can be cold.
It was absolutely gorgeous. We spent a good 30 minutes just sitting down on the rocks and staring at the scenery. If you love nature and photography, this is not to be missed!
This place is amazing, no body should travel through the southern parts of Western Austrailia, without visiting this beautiful place.
Loved the fudge and the cider. We always leave with our arms full of yummy things. The staff are so helpful and friendly.
there was nothing in this area is not good ... very serene..... alot of interest place around to see
We visited Elephant Rocks on a day out from Albany and were very pleased that we had made the effort. Not only is this a gorgeous spot with crystal clear water, it's also a bit of fun making out the elephant shapes of the rocks. This is definitely worth a visit, maybe pack a picnic.
Loved it! We dropped in on our way from Augusta to Albany and it was a wonderful little spot. Climb the rocks on the shore or swim out to the ones in the ocean. The water is so beautifully clear it also makes for great photos
We came here during winter and it was spectacular. We were alone, the view was amazing with waves breaking on the cliffs and a rainbow touching the water.
We just did a quick walk through here as we had already been swimming at greens pool. On the day we went it was a bit seaweedy and not as enticing as greens pool. However, it is a very pretty spot and worth the extra trek for that extra piece of tranquility. It has a bit more solitude than greens pool.
The day we were there it was perfect for a swim. As some have said there are days when that isn't the case. Even so there is a nice trail and just beautiful vistas.
We spent a pleasant afternoon visiting Greens Pool, Elephant Rocks, Waterfall Beach and Madfish Bay. Too windy for a swim; too rough as well as too cool. However, the explore and walk was enjoyable. None of the beaches are as good as say Thistle Cove in Cape le Grande NP or even Little Beach in Two Peoples Bay NP, but Green's Pool has some reasonable snorkeling and would be pleasant safe swimming on a calm, sunny day (morning). The waterfall at waterfall beach is only about two metres high, so not spectacular. However, the water is fresh and clean.Madfish Bay was a surprise. Walking west from the car park is a hidden smaller cove that was protected from the wind. You need to rock hop to reach this cove. The Bibbulmun Track and Munda Biddi Mountain Bike Track both wind along the Wiliam Bay Coast. The bike track shares the gravel road between Elephant Rocks and Madfish Bay.From Waterfall Beach you can see Lights Beach. This beach is also very good, but again, only for swimming on a calmer day.Toilets at Greens Pool and Lights Beach carparks.
