Going to this region and not visiting the Pedra do Baú (Stone Chest in a free translation) is losing a wonderful view. The view you get from very top of the rock gives an idea of the spectacle that mother nature can produce. The entire valey view is wonderfull. The hike has a portion not very difficult that anyone can make, but reaching the very top requires some ability and little risk that pays off the really rewarding view.
views, nature, excercise. Superb!! Great PICTURES, Nice walks. Try to get early, Don`t miss pedro do Bauzilnho
The view is so beautiful! It us worth the hike! The hike, though, is kinda dangerous. There is no infrastructure ( bring you own water bottles, sun protection, snacks), which should be told beforehand.Don't take small kids or people who cannot walk entirely ( the can enjoy part of the view, but not climb)Make sure to wear good snickers, cap and sunscreen. Take lots of pics. Again, the view is amazing.
After a 30-minute trail, you'll face the giant rock...To get to the top of it, it is highly recommended wearing some specific equipment, as the path is very steep and dangerous... Tip: as you're climbing, do not look below you...Well, on the top of the rock, enjoy the view and take some beautiful photographs... It is a once in a lifetime adventure!!
Went to "Pedra do Baú" with my girlfriend this weekend and enjoyed it so much!! The views are amazing!!! The experience we had was unique and totally worth it. The good points are the scenic views, the close contact with the nature, you don't have to pay to go, and the peace of this place which is unique. The negatives are lack of infra-structure (take food and drinks with you, you won't find any to sell there), and the difficulty to get to the most beautiful places. It is a tough track to walk, especially if you are not fit. But if you are, it is so much fun and worth it.
Outstanding landscape. If you can endure the trip (ignore what the signs say, it's always a bit further away :) ), you will enjoy the view. Don't expect any facilities there, just nature.
You can get to Pedra do Bau by Campos do Jordao or by Sao Bento do Sapucai, the road isn't bad anymore, just the last 5 km you must drive on a dirt road, witch isn't bad at all, these 5 km will only take 5 to 10 minutes to get you to one of the views. On the way to the Stone you will see the beautiful nature of this great Eco national park. Once there, park the car and take the trail by walk while watching the Stone. Only if you are a climber or feel safe climbing the rocks you should go up, and of course the elderly and children only on the surrounds. Great driving, great views and no cost.
The view is great. The way up there not so great. The feeling of freedom is great. Try to get a good transportation to take you there
If you dare climbing that mountain you will really enjoy the result. The view is amazing and it is worth the long walking to get there. Take as many pictures as you can!
It is a MUST if you go to Campos! I went in a very foggy, drizzly and cloudy day and it was veeeeeery worth it! Wonderful view!
We didn't do the Pedra do Bau since we had some children with us.But we went to the Buazinhowich is JUST GORGEOUS, realy really worth it. the view there is amazing, all the layers of mountains, and you have a beautiful view of the Pedra do bau too.The road to acces it is good, mostly pavement, only the last 2 miles is a dirt road. No walking necessary you can drive all the way to the top.A MUST!
There is a beautiful view of the vale do paraiba, the people practice sports :walking, rappel, climbing. It's a good place for contact with the nature and you can register the beautiful pictures. You should take repellents because there are many insects
You can see the entire valley. It is by far the most beautiful place in Campos do Jordao. The problem is the road to get to the rock that is pretty bad.
Fabulous vistas and natural wonders. One of the nicest places in the area. Good for hiking.
Pedra do Baú is a large rock formation between Campos do Jordão and São Bento do Sapucaí. There are actually 3 rock formations in the complex. It is a moderate drive to the trail, with breathtaking scenery along the way. A trail leads to the base of the rock, and there is a "ladder" that you can climb to the top. The views of the mountains and valley are spectacular.
