The best place ever of São Paulo. Shopping, people, cars, move, bikes, dogs, beautiful people. In love with it.

A great place to visit alone or together. Many shops to visit, a large variety of bookstores, restaurants and snack bars of different price ranges. A current historical portrait of the city of São Paulo that you can not miss visiting!

it's downtown sao paulo.all major banks and other offices are located.good place to shop around as well.some good eateries are available in the area. especially the indian restaurants for the Indians

Sao Paulo is a big city with around 7 million people and a huge traffic. Ibirapuera park is a nice, calm and relaxing place in the middle of civilization. You can walk, rent a bike or simply relax watching the dukes swimming in the lagoon.

It was interesting to see the city because I have never been to Brazil and this was our last stop before flying out. It is just something to do if you want to go for a walk and maybe do some shopping or get a snack. I like people watching and it is a very busy street so it was fun to see people playing music or getting off work and meeting with friends. Randomly the day we choose a group of college students were covered in paint and dirt walking around asking for change. It was part of their school initiation and they were all very polite and some funny, it was just a neat cultural thing to see. I like walking in cities and looking at the different buildings and people. There are a few nice shady parks you can pop into if it is during the day and you want to get out of the sun. I actually think it was more interesting at night. When the sun goes down there are a few buildings that have amazing light features, some even on top of the roof so just keep and eye out and look up. It is free, it seemed safe to me, and there is a lot to look at so if you are looking for something to do I think it makes sense if you want to get an idea for city life. Don't be scared to walk one or two streets away while walking long it. We found an amazing gourmet grocery store, ice cream shop, and a cool comic book store this way.

This is an attraction to people who are not used to be in a metropolitan city, but other then that it is a road, nothing more...There are several buildings and museums around, that are interesting, so you will be passing through the Paulista Av.. During Christmas time New Years Eve and such special occasions you will find a lot of people taking pictures of the decoration and night live. The GLS scene is located mainly around the Consolacao area (Rua Augusta) and on the other end you will find the Japanese quartier.

I agree with Orangeman from Toronto, Paulista Avenue is simply a wide avenue with mainly office buildings (some with restaurants/cafes etc) and a few remaining mansions from the early days of the city. The architecture tends to be mostly from the 60s and 70s so that in itself says it all. Worth a visit to get the vibes of a big city and if you want to see the Museum of Modern Art but nothing more. Ave. Faria Lima is much nicer IMO with some very good modern architecture and a great shopping Mall, the original Iguatemi. If you wander off this avenue you will see some nice houses which is fairly rare in this city of high rise apartments.

It's a main road, but it's not amazing or anything. It's not a NYC or European or Asian boulevard. It's a main road in a main city. People compared it to 5th Ave in NY or Champs Elysees in Paris or Shinjuku in Tokyo. No. Not even close.However, it is the life of Sao Paulo and for that it's entertaining. There's some interesting architecture and people. There was some fun performances going on and it's safe enough to take pictures. There's a nice rainforest park and lots of skaters and other subcultures hanging around. It's a great place for a walk any time of day. I don't want ot come off as overly negative. I just don't want people to have high expectations of the street like the above mentioned areas. It's just a busy downtown street that is probably symbolic of the city. But it's not an icon like Champs Elysees or even Copacabana. Go and have fun, but don't expect grandeur. It's a 4 lane road with some office buildings and lively street art.

Very nice place and a lovely lively location. We had a great time, the breakfast was excellent but should have a few more vegetarian varieties. There should be free wifi and a coffee maker in the rooms.deepak and Anita india

This is a huge avenue with lots of buildings, restaurants, museums and bars. We sat on an open bar to watch people pass by. There is also a park nearby.

main street in Sao Paulo and as you expect a lot of businesses and shops.. nothing really earth shatteringly exciting and the road traffic is chaos If you find yourself there, then plenty to do, but not sure I would go out of my way

Like Manhattan in New York, main office's of the most important financial companies in Brasil and Latin America.

The best place in São Paulo. You can see many shops/stores, restaurants, parks, museums, there is a very nice veiw of the sky, nice people, the sidewalks are large, what is something really rare in thee city, you can ride bycicle during the weekends.You can also find nice cafés around the avenue. It's close to Oscar Freire, Augusta Street and Frei Caneca.The best place to visit.On weekends it might be a bit crowded, even so, you should check

I'm not really sure why walking along this avenue is considered one of the top things to do in Sao Paulo. It's an avenue, it's big, there are a lot of shops, but it wasn't particularly mind blowing...
