Luv languages so this is the first language museum I've ever been. It focus on Brazilian Portuguese rather than portuguese. A must see.
You gonna love it, even if you don't speak portuguese fluently. It's an opportunity to know about the language and history.Vale a pena conhecer! Exposições são de ótima qualidade.
If you have visited museums in Europe and US, you will find it very small. However, it is very well organized, relevant information about Portuguese language spoken in Brazil.
This museum has changed the patterns of traditional shows.Even for non-Portuguese speakers, it can be very interesting. Totally interactive. Extremely creative.
The museum has a series of interactive displays about the portuguese language, its history and evolution. In the end there is a very nice presentation about the language and poetry. You can easily spend a morning or afternoon there. Right across the street there is also the Pinacoteca.
If you live or visit Sao Paulo, go and check this museum. The temporary expositions are modern and beautiful! The 2nd floor is VERY interactive, lots to learn and you decide what to experience. The 3rd floor is an auditorium worth waiting in line. A nice movie followed by the most amazing experience with words; better if you know portuguese, but the feeling will be great anyway
Its a nice place to visit. Very organized and have good expositions. Easy to get there by the subway.
This is an absolutely cool museum to be in, for adults. It can get really boring for kids because it is very technical, but it is wonderful for adults, and I mean Brazilians and foreigners, it is really nice the way they explain the origins and how the Portuguese language works, very interesting. There are also little games around in some machines. Just great!
The museum is very well designed and well kept, although at times too technical, so Kids will get tired/bored quickly
Very interesting how a language is explaned in a museum. Interactive and different experience! The museum is not that big and you can enjoy it. Check if any temporary exibition is taking place there, in general, there are very interesting as well. The building where the museum is located is amazing, Estação da Luz. Worth the visit for portuguese spearkers, maybe spanish and french as well (not sure you can enjoy if you speak others languages).
...To base a museum on! My Portuguese knowledge is very limited, but my love for the language grew with this exposition. The museum is dynamic and interesting, even though my Portuguese shortcomings prevented me from reading the longer descriptions. A very child-friendly museum too!I can highly recommend this museum to any foreign language lover. I would although have appreciated some English descriptions, and a gift shop. Since I am travelling alone I didn't really feel safe in the neighborhood around the Luz station, but I guess it is alright in daylight.
