Important: you have to wear long pants, otherwise they won't let you go because of the insects! Don't go there before calling to make sure the guide is there. I went at 10:30 a Monday in July and the only people there were military guards. They gave me this number and told me to call or come back in the afternoon: 32187880. I asked the hotel receptionist (using google translate, since he spoke no English or Spanish) to help me to call and see when the English speaking guide would be there. They told him "toworrow". The day after I asked them to call again, just in case, and the said "toworrow" again. So always make that extra call before you go! There seems to be two English speaking guides and one does tours at 9 and the other at 14. I went on the afternoon tour with a guide called Ittalo. He only spoke a little English but was very helpful and friendly. The walk was wonderful and we saw macacos (small monkeys) and a sloth.

We spent a lovely hour being guided along the trail into the jungle. The guide had excellent English and was extremely knowledgable about the flora and fauna of the area. The walk itself wasn't overly strenuous and we got to see some beautiful scenery and plantlife. The animals were shy on our visit but we did get to see a couple of sloths. All this was for the low, low price of FREE! Don't miss this.

The overall experience was fantastic. Wandering through the pathways of ancient rain forest is unbelievable with birds, plants and animals to look out for. I found ground growing orchids right through to seeing a truly wild sloth up the tree where the vanilla is growing. We found the visitor centre very interesting.OK, so you can't walk on your own (need an escort because of gangs which operate in the area), but it was worth it I particularly liked the notices in English as well as Portuguese, and it was FREE!Their ethos is better than all English sites of ancient woodland that I have seen. They ask you to "Listen to the sounds and let them act on you. Feel the wind, the earth you step on and the coolness of the water. Join the birds in their flight, And above all, live in your heart the unity that comes from all the life."They ask you to show Respect - "All lives are sacred. Try to leave the Garden better than it was when you came. Fill it with your love."

The natural beauty is inversely proportional to the service offered( is there a service offered?) The place is a botanical garden and a water distribution center!?! You never know who are the guides or the government workers who work there in the water board!

O local é bonito, dá pra tirar fotos bem bonitas, inclusive vários ensaios fotográficos são feitos lá. Tem várias trilhas que podem ser feitas, mas tem que saber os horários, pois tem que ser acompanhados por guia. Tem ainda uma sala de exposição sobre animais e pedras, só que pequena. A entrada é gratuita.

Não gostei muito, lugar ventilado mas muito desconfortável para se locomover, sem opções variadas para fazer uma refeição com as crianças, os brinquedos alguns deles estão precisando de reparos, enfim valeu ter conhecido, mas não vou novamente!

O Jardim Botânico fica no centro da cidade de João pessoa, de fácil acesso e bem seguro. Não e cobrado nenhum valor para entrar. Eles oferecem passeios pela mata, porem tem que ser agendado. Uma bom local para passar uma tarde e principalmente se for com crianças. Muito bonitinho pra tirar algumas fotografias.

Para quem gosta de natureza e muita paz, ideal para realizar caminhadas junto com uma pessoa que o acompanha pelas trilhas para não se perder. Tem vários especies vegetais e animais,algumas foram embalsamadas todas coletas no Jardim Botânico. Falta estrutura de lanchonete, por isto se for demorar ou fazer trilha não deixe de levar uma fruta, barra de cereal, lanches e água, sucos.

É um dos pontos turísticos da Capital onde o turista pode fazer trilhas e conhecer melhor a mata atlântica e algumas espécie de animais, o que falta no local é um bom restaurante que faz falta, pois depois das trilhas os turistas ficam um pouco perdidos sem saber o que fazer.

Se quiser respirar ar puro, visite o Jardim Botânico, onde o verde prevalece com várias árvores centenárias e algumas plantas raras onde muitas pessoas fazem até trilhas. Situado às margens de uma larga avenida, bem movimentada com muita segurança. A Cidade de João Pessoa, chegou a receber o título da segunda Cidade mais verde do mundo a anos atrás!Muito bonito o local.

Ótimo local para levar as crianças. Muitos bichos, a maioria resgatados de condições ruins. Eu não sabia, quando cheguei, mas o local tem estacionamento próprio e interno. A entrada é barata e utilizada para a conservação. Conta com aves, reptéis, macacos, leão, leopardo, elefante, e muitos outros animais. Infelizmente, alguns deles estão em jaulas muito pequenas e demonstram nítido estresse.Para quem não vai de carro, há uma longa ladeira na entrada, bem íngreme, que deve ser evitada, por uma passagem paralela.As temperaturas a tarde no verão são bem altas. Recomendo levar água e lanche, pois no local são caros. Existem várias mesinhas para piquenique.
