Best view over Rio. A long way from the busy beaches and city center. free to visit during the day.From rio, take the ferry to charitas and take a taxi there. Using a taxi from rio would take over an hour over the bridge.There is almost always a guy there who will ask you if you want a tandem paraglide. Highly recomended if you dont mind hights. not cheap at 300 reais.

This offers the best view of the bay. There are people doing paragliding. An instructor tried to talk me into a tandem paraglide but I was a bit scared. The view in the paraglide must have been even better but the view from the platform is good enough for us.

Having been in Rio over NYE, it is very crowded but Parque da Cidade was not. I think it was the best view of Rio, beats the sugarloaf and the Cristo Redentor. Don't have to wait in line for hours or pay any fee. Of course, it is good to have a car to get there.

It is a short drive up and the view of the bay and of Riois breathtaking. Enjoyed just sitting at the platform, admiring God's wonderful creation all around.

Sugar Loaf??? The Christ??? It is so easy to go there and so obvious when you come to Rio...these are the icons of the city, but we should see the outskirts, we should see the surroudings and pay attention about locals have to say.Parque da Cidade should be not in the first positions in the ranking of Niteroi, it should be one of the big fives position in the whole Brazil. The place gives you one of the best brazilian views...the scenary is breathtaking and you can understand more about the map of Rio, because the whole city will be in front of you and also Niteroi which is a wonderful city.The access is a little complicated, better if you find a a tour guide because you will have to take the ferryboat and they going up hill and it is not so pleasant if you have to walk up all the way. but if you have strong legs you should do it. It takes the whole day visiting NIteroi but you must do it. Specially finding this view point called PARQUE DA CIDADE.It is also a paragliding point, if you talk to Luciano, he is the master of the sky, or Alexandre Preá, Paulo or Ciro Animal, you will have a fantastic experience in the sky with the best view in the World and they charge local prices!Going there in the weekend, you will find a little bar that provides a delicious breakfast.Visiting Parque da Cidade you will add more beauty and adventure in your travel list! I am a friend of Niteroi and you should include this fascinating place in your list.

Excellent view of the whole of Guanabara Bay, including Sugar Loaf, Corcovado. and ocean beaches of Niterói. Special place for those practicing hang gliding. Breakfast from 9am with unforgettable scenery.

A simple and down to Earth place that offers some of the best views you can get from Guanabara bay. I would suggest visiting it in mid to late afternoon, and waiting for the sunset. Even during the peak of summer, the place offers a pleasant environment, with a nice breeze keeping it a few degrees cooler than the city.

Well worth a visit, the views are incomparable. Hang on tight to young children though, the drops are sheer in places and there are no safety railings at all. We visited in the afternoon and apart from groups of teenagers it seemed rather deserted and little known by tourists. Simply stunning vistas across Rio.

Don't miss this spot near sunset! It will be crowded but the views of Guanabara Bay and the Atlantic are second to none. A great place to view Pao de Acucar and the Rio beaches, from.

Amazing place, with an amazing view. It is my favorite place for sightseeing, by far! A clear and open view of the whole Guanabara Bay, Rio-Niteroi Bridge and Rio de Janeiro. And totally free!

Absolutely stunning, magnificent view of the city and the Baia de Guanabara! There are hang gliders jumping from there, it's really cool. There's a cafe', bathrooms and parking is free. Best enjoyed on a sunny day!

Great place to take a look at the view of the city of Rio de Janeiro. The entrance is free. At the weekends, the restaurant offers breakfast from 9 to 13.

This park is a hidden natural paradise in Niterói. The view is absolutely spectacular. No wonder that this is one of the most visited places for those who like to jump paragliding. But not much to see besides that. There was a snack bar and a gift shop for souvenirs that are now closed, and the site is overgrown.

Probably the best views of Niteroi, Guannabara Bay and Rio on the horizon. I recommend it to anyone! And if you are thinking about paragliding, this is a great spot!
