great view and interesting little train小火车爬山的过程是不错的体验,周边的纪念品店卖的东西也挺特别的不落俗套,世界奇景到巴西一定要看!
We went as part of a guided tour and went straight to the bottom of the hill to catch the funicular railway. Our guide went for the tickets then we went inside to wait for the train, they come every 20 minutes. There was quite a lot of standing around waiting with limited seating. There was a museum at the bottom which wasn't very much. We boarded the train but some in our party were left behind as they could not get on. It seemed to be completely chaotic as they the staff had let too many people through. There weren't enough seats on our train so they followed in the next one and the guide waited for them at the top. It was interesting going through the forest. When we got to the top there was the choice of a further 220 steps or the lift. We opted for the latter and surprisingly there was no queue and we went straight up. The first sight coming out of the lift was seeing the rear of the statue which was so big and imposing. There were two escalators to go up the final section. There are lots of places to take photos but it was very busy with loads of people taking selfies. It was easy enough to squeeze in and take a scenic photo but not so easy to take one with someone in it. It was great to see all the views and to admire the Christ statue. There were reasonable toilets up there and a café for snacks, drinks and ice cream. It was an experience on my bucket list and was well worth the visit despite the chaos of getting on the railway
Visiting the Cristo Redentor is obviously a must in Rio. The scenic views from the train ride up and down the mountain are lovely (great for hyper photo takers!). However, I would not suggest visiting in the morning. It gets pretty cold, and the clouds/fog cover up the Christ. If you are travelling from so far away, you probably want to be able to actually SEE the Redentor. The best time to visit would probably be around noon/afternoon. The structure is beautiful, and you can see the entire city from the balcony. Must visit!!!
