We spent 4 days at the resort, including beautiful ceremony with Wyra. Great experience, quiet and relaxing place to stay, great food and friendly staff. They get pretty busy on weekends.

This is a wonderful place to fully relax. The staff is friendly, and the cooks are wonderful! Their breakfast, which is included, is a wonderful way to begin the day. If you are looking for Ayahuasca ceremony this is a great place to have it. The ceremony I attended was lead by Wara--she was perfect for me!!I give 4 stars rather than 5 is because you will have to make sure you discuss prices before hand (be clear about them) and keep track of your bill. But if you find a mistake right away I am almost positive that they will work it out to your benefit (I ran a tab for 3 days, and found I was overcharged (I believe it was the food tab as I wrote it down after each meal I bought there) but I saw the math after I left the center :-(

ManoloRurrenabaque

hey, i am manuel, a traveller from austria.a good friend of mine told me, i have to go to rurrenabaque, a small village in the madidi national forest. so i did.i tooked a plane, went to rurre and met a up with a friend, who was guiding me into the jungle. it was my first experience, how to survive in the jungle. it was great.after this, i wanted more, so i decided to try ayahuasca in a ceremony. so i met up with phillipe. we went to the camp a bit north from rurre. i directly felt in love with this place.i had my first ceremony with phillipe andone guy from sweden. i was super nervous. didn't know why, because i allready had experience with psychedelics.phillipe started the ceremony, which is a really nice mix with different influences from his experiences. i really enjoyed the ceremony.and i enjoyed this magical, powerfull plant. it was so clear, so real. and i got more connected to mother earth than ever before.this was a point, where i decided to stay longer in the camp. i just had 5 days left in bolivia, but i went to the immigration center to extend my visa. everything worked out pretty good.i stayed about 3 more weeks in the camp. i started to volunteer, rebuilt the toilet next to the temple, which was destroyed after the flood a few months earlier. phillipe was coming every 4-5 days with new people, who wanted to explore ayahuasca.i wasn't alone all the time, some other volunteers were helping... but, when i was alone... fantastic!!! so many sounds out of thhe jungle... i couldn't believe it... it was, yeah,... one of my best days so far in my life...phillipe invited me also to support him in a ceremony with more people. just to show them the way to the bathroom, if they had to go... the toilet next to the temple wasn't ready at this time, so...and there was also my last ceremony in this fullmoon night with the eclipse... it was so much more powerfull!!!! i really could feel the connection. everybody, everything is connected.. the earth, the plants, the universe, like a big matrix...we enjoyed to lie on the ground after the ceremony, watching the fullmoon disappering behind the shade... we had a clear night and everything turned into purple, red light...it was just amazing!!!!!!!and it wasn't easy for me to leave this place, but i had to move forward...all in all...i just have to say... thank you, thanks for all of you!!!! thank you phillipe!!!!! special thanks for you!!!!miss u guys!!!!and i will come back!!!!greetzpeacelovemanuel

This is a great place to try Aya. I already had some experience in Iquitos, but there were too many people at the retreat. I was looking for something more personal, and I found it here. Philip (Shaman) is a nice guy, gentle and trustworthy. I would recommend this retreat, the best way to enjoy Aya is to be comfortable in your surroundings and you will find that here. Peace x

Dear Ingrid: Thanks for your comments. However, you know that the other people in the ceremony you attended were well affected by the medicine, so it was not a lack of potency in the medicine. The Shaman in charge was right not to give you more than two cups for your own safety. We believe the medicine to be powerful, intelligent and benevolent, hence it chooses how to affect each participant for their own benefit. Sometimes we are overwhelmed, others underwhelmed, maybe to try our faith, teach us subtlety or whatever reason might be in your case. Often times people realte to sacred work as if it was a marketplace, expecting goods delivered to their expectations, but spiritual work is often about blowing our expectations right out of the water and learning to be grateful and honoring spirit for what it gives us. Given the spiritual naturo of our work we never make any promises, but as you can see from most people's reviews they are often marvelous, sometimes scary, always safe. Hope this helps. Many blessings.

Dear Robert: First of all I am very sorry you has such an experience, but as you know, Ayahuasca mean the Vine of Death and often times people experience "death-like experiences" which can be quite frightening, specially if the medicine was very potent, but are usually al the more beneficial for their extreme nature, meaning you probably processed much more than you realize, and should pay attention to how your body, mind and soul integrates the experience, and you will undoubtedly see that it has resulted in great benefit to you.We believe the medicine to be Powerful, Intelligent and Benevolent, and fully trust the guidance of the Great Spirit when we work. We know as well the pure intention and loving care with which we work, with Love, Surrender and Devotion, which makes it all safe and transformative. In over twenty years of our working with the medicine, nobody has died or been hurt in any way.

The ceremony I did with Miguel was an excellent experience and one I'd recommend to anyone interested in experiencing this part of South American culture. The lodge provides an absolutely beautiful setting for contemplation and is worth the trip in itself. Everyone felt totally safe the entire time as well.

I've done the ceremony three times in Sacha Runa, and have never been disappointed. The ambiance is irresplaceable (you have to see the mountain view!), the service excellent, and the ceremony itself was, well, simply, magical. If you're going to do this, you have to do it right, and with a proper Shaman. This is the place, with a genuine ceremony and rituals (not the touristy kind). Endless rewards....FH

We visited Philip in rurranabaroque. Luckily for us there was a intensive shamanic retreat going on during the same time so we got to be with two other shamans from la Paz & it was a divine experience. Let me be clear that this is not a hotel or a luxury retreat. The rustic jungle accommodation is reachable only by a ten minute boat ride. It's absolutely basic, the restrooms are common, kitchen is minimalist and you buy/cook your own food. there is no electricity & beds are very basic. This place is for seekers of amazon spirituality NOT for casual family trips or comfortable fun jungle lodge.Philip is an extremely genuine person, goes extra mile to help, very innocent mind, very sincere to his shamanic pursuit & completely takes responsibility for anyone entrusted in his care. Conducts ceremonies with complete dedication & will ensure a wonderful experience for the seeker. Go try this spiritual adventure & those open to new mental frontiers & you will never regret it.I personally give Philip a full 5 stars & hope to meet him again sometime in life!!

Phillip is a very good and experianced healer you can trust and feel safe during the whole ceremony aswell as before and after. I have done other ceremonies with different healers and when in Bolivia I would highly recommend Phillip. Lots of love and light.

The place is quiet and beautifull, the view is amazing, and eventos that the weather is cold, the hotel is Pretty warm. The spirituality is found everywhere!

The ayahuasca ceremonie with Philip was a wonderful experience. It was in the beautiful rainforest close to Rurrenabaque. We were welcomed to this new environment with a walk to a waterfall where philip explained us about the plants of the rainforest. The journey was in a beautiful tempel. For me it was the first encounter with mother ayahuasca but thanks to the beautiful setting and the safe environment I could enjoy this experience from the beginning the end. The journey did not end after the ceremony. After a good night sleep we were welcomed with a healthy breakfast, and shared our experience. Thanks.

The place is very nice, the scenery is beautiful, its charm could be described as magical, and the healing experience with Michael and other people was the most important experience I've had ... Michael is a very professional and compassionate person, and myself and all people that were part of the ceremony agree that it is absolutely worth it.Congratulations to Miguel and his team for influencing so many lives in a positive way.

I did the ayahuasca ceremony in Rurrenabaque with Phillip. He is a very kind person who you can trust without doubt. He took us to the island where the temple is and showed us a little bit around, the nature is incredibbly beautiful and makes it very easy to clear your mind and prepare for the ceremony. The ceremony itself was also very good, Phillip explained everything very clearly on how it would go. He sings the icaros perfectly and also played on various instruments, and with doing those things he guides you on your trip. It was an incredible experience which i will never forget, thank you so much Phillip for making this possible for me!!
