We had a lovely time on the family run estancia. We were made feel so welcome. The horses were beautiful and patient. We highly recommend staying here for a couple of days. It was our favourite part of the Buenos Aires area. Thanks to Pancho, Anna, Rosario, Felipe and Veronica for ensuring our holiday was so enjoyable. Elaine & Pat, Ireland.
This was our second trip to the Estancia - the first being in 2010Ana was very prompt in answering my emails, and very accommodating when I changed the reservation date twice. Many of us on the ride were novice riders. The guides were terrific at making sure that we were all comfortable with our horses and knew how to handle them The lunch and snacks were delicious If you have never been on horseback (and also if you have) this is the place to go when visiting Buenos Aires.
We opted for this over a Gaucho themed experience. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable day. We went horseback riding for a couple hours and came back to a really good lunch with plenty to eat. They had a really sweet chocolate lab that visited with us. After about an hour or so break, we went for a second ride. It was great to get out of the city and see the countryside.
Estancia Los Dos Hermanos was an incredible experience for my wife and I. Our guide, Rose, was great company and great at instructing us with the horses. The surprise of the day came after the horseback riding when we had the parilla lunch which was better than any of the parillas in BA! A must go if you have the time or inclination to beat the tourists crowds in BA.
I was travelling with a group, spending ten days in Buenos Aires, and one of the days we went out of the city to visit Estancia Los Dos Hermanos, which turned out to be the best experience of all during this trip. We were 22 people in the group, but we were greeted like members of the family. We were served beer, wine and empanadas on arrival, and then we went to fetch the horses for a fantastic tour in the fields. Our experience with horses varied from total beginners to skilled riders, but they managed to find horses fit for all, and they also managed to make the tour a great experience for all levels of experience. After the ride the asado was waiting, and we had a great afternoon relaxing in the sun, enjoying a fantastic barbecue, good wines, cool beer, and the company of our very nice hosts. If I visit Buenos Aires again, an afternoon at Estancia Los Dos Hermanos is a must!
What a pleasure to come back to see friends and your favorite horses and find that your first impressions were not only accurate, but that you can have an even more extraordinary time when you know your way around! Ana and Pancho knew I was coming and they made sure (as they always do) that not only did I get my lovely little casita but also that they knew my special foods in advance. Ana went out of her way to make sure that everything I could possibly want was here and ready. One of the special things about coming in from a long day of riding is cuddling up in fragrant sheets, and then waking up to the bright flowers and sunshine of a gorgeous Argentinian day.The grounds, this time more familiar, were just as fun to explore, with or without a guide. I got to ride my favorite horse who was still available, and the great new man on hand, Felipe, took me on a 42 km ride where we were able to enjoy true estancia country. You can eat in, or eat with the other guests. The joyous dogs are sometimes around but not during mealtime ( for good reason) and if you're fortunate you get to be the one who joins Felipe to bring the horses in at night from the far pastures. The special care taken to accommodate particular diets to the attentiveness to beginners' first time on a horse are all hallmarks of Dos Hermanos. I returned after spending the year working hard on my skills both abroad and at home and was given the chance to use them here, which is much appreciated. As other guests have said, it's all about the horse experience. Due to a rainy winter, the criollos here are fat and happy and healthy, not a rib in sight. They are calm for the kids, lively for better riders and the company, as always, is delightful. The food is prepared to your tastes, with plenty of red meat and wine for traditionalists and lots of whatever you like for those who aren't. Whether you're not sure what side to get up on or are a serious rider, Dos Hermanos has something for everyone. Unlike many places which keep all the rides on site, Ana and Pancho make sure you can go far afield to have a full day to explore. One tip, however, is bring good bug spray, and lots of serious sun screen, you'll be using both all day, and don't come without a good sun hat. No matter how you come, do plan to visit, for you will leave with new friends, great stories, and an ache to return soon. I came back 18 months later and it wasn't soon enough. Nor will the next time. Dos Hermanos is a gem. Every time I spend a few days here I leave a better rider, and that's priceless. As one writer noted, it's all authentic- from the heart- and that makes this place very hard to leave.
“Horse lovers' heaven”Reviewed 6 days ago NEWOur two day visit to this estancia was even better than the reviews had led me to expect. Idyllic rural surroundings, comfortable, clean "cottages" set in tall trees and grass, happy healthy horses grazing peacefully all around, and warm, attentive hosts, Ana and Pancho. I had the best tenderloin steak ever, plus salads, etc. and superb home made puddings. We even helped on a round up of horses and all grades of riding ability were catered for. Cooling down after riding in the small, clean pool was a joy, and even a brief power cut meant we could revel in the stars and fireflies - or were they glow-worms? I even won a horse, playing pool but it wouldn't fit in my bag....Room Tip: My yellow cottage was gorgeous, and most comfortable.See more room tipsStayed October 2014, travelled with familyValueLocationServiceAsk dorothea65 about Estancia Los Dos Hermanos
I arranged this after wanting a gaucho experience in Argentina and am glad I chose this trip. It was all about the horse riding and was totally fabulous. Nothing tacky or touristy which what the gaucho experience sounded like. Great food as well. We were also extremely lucky with the other people on the trip - 2 chaps from London and a family from Wisconsin. A fab day out and the best trip of my 14 day break - many thanks to ana for organising it.
I went to the estancia for a day trip out of Buenos Aires. From start to finish, the experience was very well run and most enjoyable. We were picked up on time, had a delicious breakfast on arrival, two hours of riding, a long and lazy lunch (beautiful steak, wine, a chance to relax in the garden) and then another hour or so in the afternoon before even more food (cake) and some beer. Ana, who I emailed to arrange the booking was super helpful and very flexible to accommodate my needs. The guides were helpful and very friendly They also gave the group lots of flexibility to ride horses without feeling stifled (including a gallop or two - even as beginners...). There were no showy touristy gaucho shows - so don't go if that's what you are looking for. A brilliant day.
Beautiful estate, excellent food and value and had a great time. Both my husband and I are beginners, in fact my husband had never ridden before, but by the end we felt like pros. Felipe was a bit shy, but really sweet and fun and treated us like adults, pushing us to gallop even though we were both hesitant. It was so fun! Never gotten to do that with my (limited) past experiences. Made me finally think, wow, horse back riding is FUN! Only negative was the scenery wasn't super spectacular - we were right near the road at parts - but it felt authentic and was still beautiful and more importantly, FUN. Also, really loved that is was all about enjoying the estate and riding and not the ridiculous and degrading gaucho performances. Very relaxing - even took some time to read on their hammocks - and delicious wine and food. Well done!
My daughter and I just finished our visit to the estancia. What a beautiful, peaceful place. We are both equestrians, and Philipe did a wonderful job taking us through the countryside on very well behaved and fit horses. The food and lodging were both fabulous in the sense that it was an authentic experience. The staff just really focused on every detail to make us feel at home. Ana and Pancho are both great people, willing to go out of their way to make you comfortable in their country. My only regret is that I couldn't spend an entire week here.
I also traveled on my own to the estancia and stayed one night - everything about my trip was absolutely perfect, from the planning to the horse riding to the food to the staff. It was the highlight of my Argentina trip and I would absolutely recommend the overnight stay - the cottages are incredibly cozy and serene, and the ravioli was delicious! Thanks to everyone there for a fantastic experience.
I was traveling on my own and stayed at the estancia for 3 nights. From the beginning, I found the correspondence with Ana very professional, she answered quickly and responded to my individual questions in detail. I was picked up at the hotel in Buenos Aires, which made it very easy for me. The location and the people were just beautiful!! Rose and Felipe took primarily care of me, it felt like being around friends. Rose rook me out horse riding, I was mostly the only guest, which did not matter. She took very well care, I was able to try different horses, which were all well trained. What I liked is that the horses were for different levels, so I was able to ride very nice ones that actually responded to my signals and not just because of the other ones, I find this extremely great since there are lots of day visitors, the staff knows exactly who to put on which horse and goes out of your way to make your experience happy. It was the perfect day: nice breakfast (the food is simply amazing!), horse riding to lunch, beautiful lunch, siesta in the hammock and then another ride, afternoon tea, relax, dinner. What a nice day! And Felipe took well care of my little house with bringing lots of wood for the open fire for the night, which was such an authentic experience, it could have not been better. I stayed in a beautiful little cottage with direct view on the fields and horses when I woke up. Even traveling on my own, I felt so comfortable and loved my time there. It is like a home away from home, a beautiful family, amazing food, chats and horses. Ana, who I was not able to meet personally during my stay, even called to say goodbye before I left. Rose, her dad and Felipe were is so helpful and trying to anticipate my wishes and thoughts in a truly authentic manner with a lot of heart put into their work. Thank you very much!!
We had the most amazing experience staying at the ranch for four nights as part of our honeymoon. Having been picked up from the airport by the very knowledgeable Andres, we were driven through beautiful countryside to the ranch. Our room was fantastic and very homely and comfy. All of the staff could not do enough for us, including catering for my wheat intolerance, they were all extremely welcoming. The food and drink was absolute spot on and always well received after so much riding! As relatively experienced riders we enjoyed riding some of the more out-going horses around the farm (which is huge) and surrounding area. The wildlife and views were superb and Rosario our guide keenly pointed these out including burrowing owls perched on fences. We enjoyed everything about our stay, the only down side being our sore legs at the end of the trip!
Hi Everyone,I'm looking for people to share the ride to Los Dos Hermanos between July the 26th and 29th (included). The more we are, the less we pay for the transfer...Thanks,Olivier
