spread over 2 floors, this excellent exhibition is very informative with the accompanying audio guide and the fact that every display is numbered and you follow a yellow arrowed line so cannot get out of sync with the audio guide. Some displays are a bit cheesy but overall one gets a good introduction to Feuguin history and that of the explorers from Europe.Located in the main San Martin thoroughfare, this is easy to find. Large gift shop on site selling similar tourist ware as most other outlets.
Very nice place, the experience is incredible and unique, from the entrance to the elevator and the garden, the details of the statues and very well explained and interesting the history of Ushuaia , also I highlight the great attention of young people attending in the gallery who care for the tourists so you don`t leave with no doubts! The souvenirs are nice and cheap compared to other places. Don`t miss this experience if you pass through this beautiful city.
Yes, there's a huge souvenir shop at the end, and yes it's a little on the cheesy side (you can enter some of the scenes for snapshots), but this is a very easy way to get an introduction to the history of the area. We spent time in the museum at the national park and hours at the Maritime/Prison museum in Ushuaia, but this integrated much of the information in a more visually appealing, thoughtful and accessible way. Complimentary audio guides in several languages tell the story. We even had the treat of some genuinely delightful opera singing from the balcony as we left.
The museum is very informative and should be a 'must see' on your visit to Ushuaia. The story of the area is wonderfully portrayed over 3 floors in several languages via head sets. It tells the whole story from the first natives, who the lived and survived in the area, right up to the present. It is cheap to enter and the fantastic souvenir shop on the ground floor is a must to visit. I only wished I had visited this shop before I started to spend my money...there are so many types of gifts - locally made to choose from.
There are 4 themes covered by thirty scenes- original people, beagle voyage, the prison and Shackleton s expedition. The audio guide is in several languages and offers more information than the posters displayed. You can take photos of everything and can pose within many of the scenes. There are additional models in the garden along with two little rabbits. 120 pesos including the guide. There are lifts to the various floors and wheelchair support for the levels on each floor.
You can't miss this museum with the bodies hanging out of the front of the building. A brief history of the original inhabitants of the islands, the arrival of Darwin and the prison. There are some large gaps in the history but we have some fun photos of us with the exhibits. There is a good souvenir shop attached.
The galeria is a fun, albeit short option to discover more on the history of Ushuaia and Argentinian Patagonia. It mixes fun and history in a perfect blend to please adults and children, and its collection of artifacts from the native population is very interesting. The audio guided tour is good and informative. The part about Shackleton is amazing! As usual, exit through the gift shop :)
A very emersive and acceptable experience. Not always a lot of English around in Argentina, so having the mp3 commentary was great. The life size scenes gave you a feeling of being right there, and you were welcome to jump into some of the scenes for a photo opportunity. Felt we learned a lot about the atea and it's history.
"Pequeña historia fueguina" was one of the most intresting activities I did in Ushuaia. It is awesome how it takes you back in time. I honestrly recomend it!
It's a 2 floor house where you take an audio guide and it's going to tell you the history of the place. It's a cheap museum . Good for knowing the Ushuaia history
There you can listen to the history of Ushuaia while taking pictures with the characters - similar to Madame Toussaud - we had a lot of fun.
There aren't too many things to do in Ushuaia so I came here. There are models of people crawling out of windows on this building on San Martin street so this place is easy to find. It is a well designed area with audio guide which worked well aside from some glitches. There is a nice historical perspective of the history of Ushuaia from natives to explorers. There are also some life sized dioramas which can be a bit cheesy but great for some photo ops especially if you have kids. Overall it was a fun and informative way to spend an hour in Ushuaia. There is also a backyard garden with penguins on an ice floe (diorama) and prisoners building the trains...as well as an extensive gift shop.
This museum spread over 3 floors is quite a good and interesting way to see history of this part of the world. The Audio tour included in the entry is pretty good and allows you to view the gallery at your own pace.
Second to none!! Excelent service, accmodations, allpleasure !! I WILL GO AGAIN ANY TIME !! WORTH EVERY PENNY !!!
