The church is different than all other churches in Lviv. With its facade hidden from the street, it feels more quiet. It has got a wonderful interior, with walls covered with frescos. It is also an important reminder of multinational history and sould of Lviv, which was home to many nationallities, among them Armenian. It does not tak elong and is well worth a visit.
A lot of churches are in Lvov, but this one is the most interesting, Armenian Catholic, church. Very calm and tolerant atmosphere inside.
Visit this church to see the contrast with the sumptuous baroque churches located around Lviv. It needs a lot of work but the church is ancient and the atmosphere is quiet and reverent. Worth a short visit.
It will not take you long to visit it so it is better to visit it as a part of Lviv guided tour. The interior is amazing. A very pleasant place. Have been there twice. By myself and with a guide.
entry for few grivnas and you can also buy a permission to take photos and this will cost you in total only 5 UAH...at first glance the church looks very poor, but is for sure beautiful with its altar and fresques. maybe also a tourist guide is recommended to understand everything. really nice.
Really interesting place to visit. The building is really interesting and beautiful. People there are great as well. I spent the whole Sunday service there. Even my 7 y.o. who hates staying long in the churches enjoyed our experience.
Very beautiful church to visit. Most Kiev's Christian Churches are very small, and this is Armenian Catholic so its different from others you'll see there.
While it blends in with the surrounding buildings and has a small front to the road, inside it is different from the other churches in its architectural style and decorations which are more subdued than the other churches. Definitely one place to visit in Lviv.
This place is one of my favourite place, so I always spare some time to visit this Church while I'm in Lviv. This Cathedral is so diffrent from catholic or orthodox churches, here you don't see all this gold stuff, but beautiful interior with great paintings on the walls. Very peaceful place, good spot for taking a breath and calm.
I found out about the cathedral by chance as it's not very obvious form the outside since it's in a narrow street amongst the buildings in the old town. You'll need to pay around 15 UAH to take pictures, which was odd since in all the other cathedrals it was free of charge to take pictures, not to mention they were much more interesting in terms of the interior design. It was still a nice experience to find it and visit it, especially since it is the oldest Armenian church in Europe outside Armenia.
Beautiful centuries old cathedral with spectacular interior. Cantor sang for our group which made our day extra special.
Well worth a visit to experience and view the wonderful interior frescos and paintings. The painted archways offer an "eastern" feeling, almost Islamic, with gem-tone colors. Very old and very beautiful.
Since the renovation, but also before, it's a must to see! Very simple and poor , compared with Roman Catholic churches, but so beautiful in his simplicity!
most interesting small church in central Lviv- beautiful frescoes, and a striking pre-Raphaelite painting of a funeral with ghostly outlines. Well worth a visit. Just another fascinating attraction in Lviv- a city full of surprises. There is a small charge if you want to take photos.
Located on perhaps the most charming of many charming streets in old Lviv. Interior and exterior architecture sets it apart from Orthodox and Greek Catholic churches in the city. Wonderful frescoes.
