when ı walked on the street of old town. ı imagined that ı was in the middle century. be sure that you will meeting unique architecture in this city
Interesting old European city center with an Eastern European flavor. Many different architectural styles to see.
This is the area I love to roam about every time I come to Lviv ;) Since it's very well-preserved and wasn't destroyed during the war, it has both aesthetic and historical value to all visitors ;) A word of advice - wear comfortable shoes since the cobbled streets of Lviv are a true curse for high-heel shoes lovers ;)
This is where all of us gather to walk as a group and dine together while in Lviv. Sometimes we are joined by University staff and other locals. Manger scene is so large and beautiful. Ice rink on other side is fun!
Old Town is definitely a place to visit. The streets are easily walkable, there are many restaurants and cafes, the locals are friendly and there is always something going on in one of the squares.
I was in Lviv for business and was given a personal walking tour guide for the city of Lviv. She was well versed and her English was very good. There is much history in Lviv. What was especially interesting to me was the difference pre- and post independence ...about 20 years ago. The stories of what people could or could not do under Russia rule were fascinating. The local people are very proud of their city. The architecture most reflects decades and hundreds of years before independence and by USA standards would be considered dark and drab.
The architecture - Renaissance, Baroque and years in between - was stunning and its so good to wander around a car free environment in historic cobbled streets, stopping every now and again for a great coffee and pastry, staying on in the evening for a meal, visiting museums and shopping for traditional textiles, ceramics and food.
What a charming mosaic of medieval and renaissance architectures! I think this place will be your first place to visit. A lot of beautiful church and coffees.
Most of Ukraine outside Kiev has little interesting architechture but Lviv is different. Lviv Old Town is quite compact but large enough to spend several hours walking around. There is plenty to see with incredible architecture and lots of history to learn including the stoty of Mr.Masoch and the origin of Masochism. There are lots of nooks and crannies to explore, caffes galore. Many people, especially the younger ones speak reasonable English and the prices if you come out of Europe are incredibly low.
Lviv is a very beautiful, old city with amazing architecture. Just wander around and note where there are cute cafes, museums and archival gems. The people are very friendly. We found a cute restaurant in a very old building that serviced delicious traditional Ukrainian food.
You must see this place and walk around if you visit lviv you can make shoping aroun there but do not forget to negotiate
Nice compact city to walk around in and I felt very safe. Some fine buildings dating back to it's heritage as part of the Austro-Hungarian empire which I believe the people are proud of. Many of the people of Lviv that I came in contact with were extremely kind and helpful and many spoke some English.
Nice and well preserved old city centre. Many points of interest to visit and also many places to have a drink or to eat.
There is so much to like about this old European city with its historically ethnically diverse culture that dislikes pale into insignificance. If you love informality all round this is for you.
The place in Ukraine you just must visit! Historical places, masterpieces of architecture and lot of fun!
