亚洲城市欧洲脸庞,海参崴市长在形容这座城时如此描述。这条街完全诠释了这一点。沿街两旁都是欧洲风格的建筑,各有千秋令人流连忘返。

Packed with cars, covered with ice on the sidewalks and mud on the street. Traffic jams expected, better avoid. Walking is simplky dangerous due to slippery ice

I was pleasantly suprised by the street. I'm not sure why, but I was expecting something a little more communist in architecture, at the very least, a lot more drab. It's a great long street to walk down, even the bank buildings are pretty. Be sure to stop in at Presto for an amazing coffee!

I found Svelanskaya Street to be, together with others in the center, a little bit like a mini-Moscow. The buildings are nicer than in other parts of the Russian Far East, but that area is quite small. Nonetheless, it is nice to walk around, there are some shops, restaurants, and beautiful buildings around.

Not so much fun on this street. But it deserves attention because there are many historic buildings, shops and restaurants.

If you're looking for souvenirs, there are not a lot of places. Buy them where you see them. The area along the river on the weekend had souvenir stands set up. Check out prices and then bargain. Often a bargain if you buy two of the same thing.

This street struck me as an average street, worth wandering along. Some of the buildings are interesting but what is more interesting is exploring some of the hidden little alleyways along it.

Street Svetlanskaya is without a doubt - the core of Vladivostok, it is impossible to imagine this city without streets, this is the first street of the city since 1861, there is the whole story with her eloquent testimony. Find at least 2 or 3 hours to walk on it, start numbers from west to south, or rather from the place of "Waterfront", a small beach across the main square, and then Meadow to a point, then just over 200 house numbers, and a length of about 6 kilometers , residential high-rise buildings here a little. But to go far to the east - and is not necessary. That is. Center in Vladivostok - a compact, that first number is the largest cinema "Ocean", the beginning of the street is not so fussy, especially if the non-working day, many homes are over a hundred years, then the name of Arseniev Museum (№ 20) and the Museum of the Navy more quite good museums, great shops, offices, banks, offices, provincial government, restaurants, homes, and more often. Sometimes, beautiful houses, which have changed little over one hundred years - it's nice, certainly something where the communists demolished houses and parks, and put the ugly monuments to their "heroes", where some houses were rebuilt, is built, but the spirit of the street - little has changed! You will feel that spirit of the city, when a little stroll. The street is removed continuously from the debris, illuminated at night, there is relatively safe (if not going into the cross street), there are phones and exchange offices, shops a lot, and expensive, and not very hungry you can not stay, there is a police station, the winds are blowing here is not strong, there are trees. Simply go. A new bridge was laid and the limiter, but vehicular traffic - an intensive, and be careful: walk only on the zebra or traffic lights. Beggars have, is rudeness, during the holidays is a drunken, public toilets - not enough, but in general there is safe and fun if you know the general rules of behavior in Russia, they adhere to, the study of the street will be a pleasant point of your visit. Take a look and do not forget your camera! )

So, you are heading to Vlad? You have to walk (up and down) this street as it will produce a lot of Russian character from granpas and children playing chess in a park to Hare Krishna chanting their hymns and passerby's treating them as normal human beings. Very good restaurants up this street (about 2 blocks from the Central Square) - including Russian "fast food" (all organic, by the way), State University (up the street), Orthodox Church with a beautiful park. This street is a must as it leads to "1st River" - major bus line.

First time in this city and the traffic on this street is probably the most significant aspect about it. People walking everywhere and to be honest the buildings have seen better days although they are supposed to be restoring them. Some of the buildings have dates on them, usually round the turn of the old century and some buildings are from the more modern period of Russian history. We went into the G.U.M store and it had magnificent architecture and murals but no photos were allowed. It is quite a steep street and we kept dodging the crowds, as it was a workday in the city. Although at the edge of the continent it had many upscale shops, banks and little cafes.Enjoy your visit!
