One among many picturesque parks in the Moscow area. You can enjoy the outdoors or visit the museums. It is a gorgeous place to visit during any season, but to my opinion spring is the best.
A little way from the centre giving an opportunity to see a little of the vast city outside the centre. The convent is currently being renovated but is still interesting with a number of graves of the famous to be seen.
This beautiful mancion is a great example of russian culture and history. You can walk around big pounds, sit on a bench under the tree or buy a ticket and go inside of the mansion if you like to see golden apartments. Needs to see either you are a Russian or a foreigner. The best time for visiting from the end of spring till the beggining of autumn. Enjoy.
We enjoyed this palace with our children. An amazing restoration of an old palace. We did not find an audio guide so did not learn a lot here. The lady was a bit odd and wanted to see the children when we purchased tickets. Turns out kids are free.
A nice park to go for a walk if you are willing to forget that it is a history and architectural museum. Well, you may consider it a display of Luzhkov's (a former Moscow mayor) architectural ideas.
It was one of my lovely places in Moscow before the restoration. Now you have to chose in advance what would you like to do: to visit museums (the palaces) or to enjoy the nature in the park (the time you will need and the dress could depend on your choice;-)May be it isn't the must for the short visit to Moscow, but if one have to stay longer and in hot summer time, I definitely would recommend to visit Tsarytsino on Saturday or on Sunday.
Take a whole day to travel to the Tsaritsyno. This is a huge park with green area and a beautiful museum. I love to spend time here, just for a walk, play and relax on the grass. There are few toilets and a cafe, even though they are not as good as we would like. Take food and blanket with you to have a picnic. Grass clean and well appointed, it is a pleasure to walk barefoot. Do not just watching the sights, enjoy nature! The nearest metro station - Orekhovo, the exit is right at entrance to the park, where is closer and more pleasant walk to the most beautiful places. Just turn left leaving the train if you're going from city center and left again up the stairs. A couple of times I got to music festivals there, it was really amazing! The park has a lot of squirrels and birds. And you can just lie down and look up at the sky, enjoying the beauty. The park sells souvenirs and ice cream. And be sure to check out the palace!
The site itself has quite a history behind it, but what you can see today is bearly 10 years old. The previous Moscow mayor planned it all and thus created the screwed vision of the past. However it is a nice place for a walk. You can get to it by metro via two stattions: Tsaritsyno - where most of the crowds go, or Orekhovo - the next one on the green line, which I prefer. It is more convenient as you avoid walking under the railway tracks, like in Tsaritsyno case.I remember the park in 1990s when it is ina state of neglect. You could walk along its real paths, not the cobbled ones like today and actually real the real ruines of the palace.Today you can visit for a fee several galleries in the rebuilt premises.Planning your visit I would recommend to visit in the evening when they have light shows. The fountains on the main lake "dance" to the rhythm of the music and there is a light show going on.
This is a pretty underrated park, would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for something uncommon to do during their stay in Moscow. It is a bit far from the center of the city, but it has some excellent architecture dating back to Imperial Russia and a pleasant fountain. It even makes for a pleasant place to go jogging or to do some exercise.
Access by underground, this attraction is located in the south part of moscow. It's amazing and great if you like history and arts.
less traffic & lots of space - better then Kremlin =) My favorite season is an early autumn. Amazing!
We have been in Spring the first time to this park. It is a very well maintained part with many interesting buildings and a very impressive spring-fountain. I strongly recomend also to visit the Museum once. The park invites to relax in the sun, play football or badmington or similar, for a shorter or longer walk around the small lakes in the park.
This monetary is a peaceful setting with several structures to visit and icons to view. My favorite was the Napoleon wars museum.
This is an excellent place where someone can make a very relaxing walk and simultaneously see some historical buildings and modern architectures. You can definitely make beautiful pictures, talk and enjoy the colors and the scenery of the landscape. Highly recommenended
The park and the historical buildings has been under renovation for a long time. Actually the original Big Palace have never been finished in the emperess time. But now the complete ensamble looks great! It is nice to walk there in warmer part of the year, though when it is in snow its red-white color enlivens the whiteness of the environment.
