I grade this company as "avarage" and not "very good/excellent" only because my wife and i had a totaly opposite experiences with our snowboard instructors.We booked 6 days * 2 hour/day group lessons that started at 11:00, at the upper Gondola station. My wife tried snowboarding for the first time (level 1). Her instructor, Jivko, was amazing. He had so much patience and skills to explain the different techniques and to encourage her when she got nervous. Him, i'd recommend any day to anyone.I am almost at level 3. My instructor, Mila, wasn't good at all. At most days our group was no more than 3-4 people. But it felt like the instructor is neglecting his slower students and running away with the better ones. I my opinion that's wrong. Unfortunatly for me, all my progress in snowboarding was thanks to DIY method - fall and learn... A total waste of my money...So there you have it: Two instructors, two different opinions...hard to grade.

We got the whole deal here booking through the Bansko Blog and Lance Nelson. I'm really glad we did. The team in store are helpful and don't mind if you need to change kit. The instructors were REALLY good, the only thing that affects your tuition is the group size and perhaps maybe participants of varying levels, but that didn't really affect me. Jivko is and excellent instructor who gave a personal level of assistance, even helping my wife when she wasn't on a lesson.Thanks Jivko. As a bonus I think we got 20% discount for booking through the blog and Lance was very helpful when it was needed. All in all GO HERE!

Just spent a week in Bansko - 2 adults + kids 9 and 5yrs. We had a great time and its a good deal cheaper than French/Austrian Alps. We got all our equipment from SkiMania and found them to be a great company - really helpful and friendly. When you turn up on day one and you're clueless about where things are in the resort and what the procedure is then it can get a wee bit stressful especially with kids. SkiMania were very patient and helpful throughout - even after our daughters skis fell off the gondola into the forest.The equipment we hired from SkiMania was good quality and good value. The shop is just round the corner from the main gondola station so you can leave it there to get dried at the end of the day which was really convenient. The guys that deal with all the gear were friendly and helpful and if you're having an issue with anything they will sort it out.We also booked lessons through SkiMania which were fantastic. My son (9) had snowboard lessons on a dry slope for a few months before we went but came on an unbelievable amount after lessons with "T". Our daughter (5) had never never skied but had a great time in her lessons with Koco and has now got the bug. Both instructors were really good fun with the kids which is really important when you're leaving them in their care (They're English was also very good). Although we only had one lesson with Evalina we picked up a lot of good advice from that which helped us throughout the week.Overall I would highly recommend Ski Mania. If you're going to Bansko they will take good care of you.

If you are easily discouraged like me I strongly recommend having a private lesson with one of the instructors of ski mania. I had my First training from kalin. He was an experienced and encouraging instructor. My boyfriend had also private lesson for snowboard and he is very satisfied. The staff is very helpful although shop was very busy they managed to find us instructors at the exact time we wanted. The only negative thing is they do not accept credit cards.... So get your cash ready

We have been using ski mania for the last 10 years and George and his team are fantastic. Good equipment, fast service with a smile. We have used the instructors a few times for snowboarding and they have been great. Their English was of a high standard and they were very patient with my snowboarding a attempt.

I have been visiting Bansko for many years and have always been treated really well by the team here. I recently decided to get my daughter on to the skis and as i have always had a great rapor with them i asked them if they could take my 5 year old.The instructors all speak fantastic English and since my daughters first ski lesson we have been back to bansko a number of times and always been met with a smile and a few sweets for my daughter.My daughter has also got to know many of the instructors and is extremely excited when she go's up to see who will be her instructor this year, will it be busby she asks or Ivan, or will it be Evelina ! It really doesnt matter they are all fantastically patient and great with the kids, and my daughter is now paralell skiing down the mountain. Back for new year 2014 and will be back to visit them
