yagodinskaya cave

We didn't really plan to go in the cave but once we got there and spoke with the guys waiting for the time for a tour we decided to give it a try. Yagodinskata cave is one of the longest in Bulgaria (about 10 km in length)! It has 3 floors but only the first one is open for tourists. The entrance and the exit are artificially done. The route is about 1100 meters long. It is not difficult to walk inside but if you want something extreme they also organize 2 such tours. They last several hours and you must be ready to get dirty!There are tours every hour, working time is from 9 AM till 4 PM and the fee is 5 leva.

The visit is quite expensive and only at fixed time, but it was well organised and the guide took time to provide us with explanations in English.The visit is long enough and the natural phenomenon to observe varied.

What I don't agree with is a rating of 3 stars - it's worth one more :-)It's a nice and easy walk through a well developed and well preserved cave, there are some beautiful sights and if you are in the region, there is are not many alternative attractions anyway!For some real excitement in the region, try Haramiiska Dupka in Trigrad, with tours being organised at the Devil's Troat Gorge.

A massive complex of caves with interesting features but lacking lighting that would make the natural assets seem more spectacular. The road trip was excellent and made the journey well worth while.

Опять, странно, что о пещерах Триграда тоже никто своих отзывов до меня не оставил... А между тем они входят в число 100 национальных туристических объектов Болгарии. Жители страны специально заводят такие книжечки-путеводители и, ориентируясь по ним, знакомяся с природными и историко-культурными забелжителностями. В информационных центрах каждого объекта ставят в эти книжечки специальные символические штампики.Так вот, у с. Триград - пещера Дьявольское горло, страшная, огромная, с горной буйной рекой и глыбами обрушившихся вниз камней... Можно дойти до нее пешком, если остановились в одном из отелей или къщ Триграда...До Ягодинской - нужно ехать, примерно полчаса по "одноколейному" серпантину. Экскурсии проходят организованно, каждый час... Характер этой пещеры совершенно другой, более камерный и лиричный. Сталактиты, сталагмиты и сталактоны украшают залы и переходы..На информационных стендах написано, что температура внутри 8 - 12 градусов... Но было относительно комфортно в куртке.Выйдя на воздух из Ягодинской пещеры, не торопитесь к автобусу, еще можно осмотреть первобытную пещеру, а на джипе подняться на панорамную площадку Соколово око, откуда видно горы Греции, Македонии и, разумеется, Болгарии!
