if you come to sofia you have to visit this place it is excellent , many shops and cafeterias , you can spend a 4 hours there , and it branches to all different streets that have restaurant and shops
I stayed at the Hilton Sofia, about ten minutes walking distance from this shopping road. Like Las Ramblas in Barcelona this road also allocated for pedestrians only. But can't compare both. Ramblas much beautiful than this. Here buildings are usual shops and restaurants, not historical or designed. Restaurants bit of expensive, I have no idea about the shops, because I never shop touristic areas in any country, definitely I know some kind of traps there! Specially countries like Bulgaria we must be careful. Good for just a walk!
Everything you need on one street. Shopping, cafes, restaurants, Bars. It has to be one of the best boulevards in Europe.
Although this is Sofia's main street/boulevard we are not so impressed by architecture. Most of the interesting stuff here are the bars and restaurants but they tend to be more expensive than the excellent ones you can find on parallel streets next. So it is a good place for a walk., but make your homework and try the food or drinks in the small streets around!
It's an ordinary high street, where expansive watch shops mixed with cheap clothing outlets and high street chain store. The pavement on the street seams to be broken permanently. I wouldn't recommend it as a separate destination point/entertainment. If you want to do shopping in Sofia it's better to go to one of the neumorouse shopping malls.
This street is the heart of Sofia. Cafes, restaurants and mainly shops are located there. from the South you are facing the beautiful Orthodox Church holy Sunday and if you turn around on a nice clear day you can admire the beautiful Vitosha mountains. Vitosha Bld has been renovated fe years ago and it's now 90% pedestrian. there is an entrance to the Metro at each end of the street
On a sunny afternoon, this is a great place to browse and stop for a coffee or snack. Great view of the mountain and much better since it was pedestrianised.
I was there for a business meeting. My partner is always good for a cup of coffee in one of the caffees. If you want to buy something, from clothes to jewelry arguably best choise, yet bound to pay premium prices, always good for seeing what's new and latest.recommended if you are spending 2-3 days in Sof.
interesting place with a lot of designer shops for clothes.the view of vitosha mountain in the far background is breath-taking.usually busy and bustling.there are bus stops nearby and there is a McDonald's branch in the middle of it if you feel hungry anytime.avoid the street sellers, they usually bring along some trouble.enjoy the cafe's in the early evening with the view of the people going past you with a warm relaxing cup of coffee.
What a great pedestrian street. Yes, you can take the metro which runs directly underneath this boulevard. But why would you? See and be seen on Vitosha! We saw a fake Apple store, bars with outdoor patios, tourists and locals out for a stroll and souvenir shops everywhere. We bought some rose jam from one of the shops. It was excellent. We bought another jar for our friends. Prices are good in Bulgaria, as you probably realize. They are a bit higher on Vitosha, but still reasonable when you think what you would pay in the US or western Europe. C'mon, live a little! We ate at the Pizza Palace which was directly on Vitosha. Great place! Good prices and fantastic food. You always have to drink the rakia with your food, too. Don't miss that unique pleasure (I'm not being sarcastic, it's good stuff). If you decide to walk down Vitosha in the rain, it's a different story. You will see there are a lot of potholes in the street and many large holes in the sidewalks. It's one thing to avoid the potholes in the sunshine, but during a rainstorm your feet can get really soaked. The other problem is that the eavespouts come down from the roofs and drain directly onto the sidewalks, so you must try to dodge the gushing waterfalls every few feet. But in good weather, Vitosha Boulevard is central to your Sofia vacation experience. I would guess we walked this street 12 times in our seven day stay. Never got tired of it. Did I mention the beautiful Bulgarian women? My wife enjoyed the fashions and I enjoyed the girls.
Vitosha avenue is perfect for shopping and it seems that it has been renovated recently. there are a lot of nice, trendy shops with decent prices
Main street in sofia downtown and shopping area.Full of pubs and restaurants and many tourist attraction like Alexander Nevsky, National palace of justice, sofia courthouse ..Was pleasant, but iam not big fan of Sofia.
This is the best place in Sofia to come and have dinner or drinks on a summer evening. There's so much choice and the atmosphere is great.
it has improved a lot since the last time i visited. in the past it was kind of dead, cold, now its full of cafes and atmosphere and pretty nice food too. definitely worth a visit :-)
I thinks its the main street you can find coffee shops and restaurants, and it has a nice view at both sides on you can see the cathedral and at the other side the mountain. I think this street its where everyone goes to meet up tourist or locals!
