If it's peace and relaxation you want then this is the place for it . Bars and restaurant are wonderful as are the staff. No noisy night life

There was one really good restaurant and it was nice to walk around there. For me it felt like there were too many tourists and it didn't really have locals' life in it. Beaches were nice and I enjoyed swimming there. But make sure you also visit Dubrovnik because you can't really compare the places.

Cavtat is a beautiful little town ,two lovely bays and a great walk round the pine forest,don't want to say to much keeping this one a secret ,it has everything .

The colour of the stone and roofs. Pavement cafes. Small cobbled backstreets. Flowers everywhere. Good food, good local wine and such friendly people.

Cavtat (pronounced 'Tsvav - tat') is a town just down the coast from Dubrovnik. You can reach it via a small boat from Dubrovnik old harbour, which takes about an hour - there are plenty of touts selling tickets. The town itself is small and doesn't take long to look round. There are some restaurants, cafes and souvenir shops. But the real highlight is a promenade around the coast, a wide paved footpath that you can follow for as long as you like back round towards Dubrovnik, staying just above the sea all the way around. There are lots of benches and it's stunningly lovely - seas as blue as anything you'll find in the Caribbean. Take some insect repellent though as I got some mozzie bites along here.

Cavtat, Croatia was reminiscent of what the French Riviera looked like prior to tourism taking over. The old town was quaint and clean with tree lined streets and side walk cafes which offered exquisite views of the marina/harbor and azure blue sea of the Adriatic. This is a town well worth visiting and staying if you are fortunate enough to include for a day or two in Croatia.

We really liked the walking town of Cavtat. Its only about a half hour from the City of Dubrovnik or the airport. You walk everywhere here. Nice little shops and excellent smaller restaurants are along the waterfront. Its a peaceful quiet place to spend a few days of your vacation and in the off season hotel rooms and apartments are available. The water is so clear here you can toss in a coin and watch it sail all the way to the bottom.

My friends and I took the short taxi ride to Cavtat while awaiting our flight from Dubrovnik to Rome. A sidewalk along the sea, sidewalk cafes and children swimming in the sea. You can just walk from your cafe table, steps to the sea. Next time I go to Croatia I will stay HERE after roaming the streets of Dubrovnik!

Pretty harbour on both side of Peninsula and plenty to see.Lovely restaurants with tasty food and house wine

Myself & my partner stayed in Cavtat in 2011. I left a review on the apartment we stayed in. We fell in love with Cavtat from the moment we arrived. It is still a place we speak of. I hope to return there again and find it as magical as we did first time around. It has such a lovely atmosphere in the town. The town is a row of cafés, bars and restaurants along the Harbour, overlooking millionaires and their enormous yachts! We googled one and it was €375,000 to rent for 1 week!!! Includes staff etc. I was hoping to see someone famous! ;) The people in the town are extremely friendly, lovely people. So nice to sit in a café looking out at the sea enjoying a tea or coffee or an ice-cream. Their ice-cream is delicious! We weren't keen on the food, we thought they lacked variety. That would be the only negative thing I could say. Sitting at night in the bar looking out at the sea was just heaven. All the yachts lit up and a great buzz along the strip. I noticed there were no teenagers or young people, Cavtat appeared to cater for elderly, couples & families. There are no clubs and it wasn't tacky like someone handing out fliers. It was a classy town with a romantic, calm & friendly atmosphere. We loved it.

VachonCavtat, a small village close to the Dubrovnik airport, is truly a haven of peace.A beautiful beach, numerous shops, gorgeous surroundings, a variety of restaurants with good food and completely furnished appartments within walking distance of all these facilities make this location an ideal place for a family holiday especially in Spring or autumn... The place must be packed in summer!This city was our last stop before our return to Canada after a one month trip in Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia, and Slovenia.The Tina appartment where we stayed two days was a real bargain at 50$ a night. Satellite TV, a completely furnished kitchen, washing facilities, air conditioning, two bedrooms and a balcony overlooking the Adriatic sea rendered these Tina appartments a luxury stay. Fantastic restaurants were just across the street!Splendid spot to relax and enjoy the beauties of nature.

Cavtat is easy to walk round and feels very safe. There are plenty of resturants and shops but it doesn't feel crowded. Walking through the harbour is great seeing the different boats watching the water polo , looking in different chapels. Walking through the back streets to going up through the woods brings different views and architecture. From the old town you can take excursions to the islands to dubrovnik even to Montenegro. Its not a family place more a couples place as it' has a laid back atmosphere

It is a very interesting place, with very different old history compared to places like Dublin. The streets and cobblestones take you back. The hotel was up high so you had to walk when it was very hot but there were always early mornings or the night time to walk. We found a restaurant that we liked down by the harbour where the expensive Russian yachts are berthed. I would go again tomorrow to visit again.

During our long weekend in Dubrovnik we caught the local bus to Cavtat, a picturesque hour's drive along the coast.Cavtat, although small, has a good selection of restaurants/cafes and bars and the old town and harbour oozes atmosphere. Luxury yachts line the harbour drawing envious stares, and a walk around the promontory gives lovely views across the water to Dubrovnik in the distance, though the walk will entail walking through an ugly car/coach park.A further walk north along the shoreline takes you to a cluster of large, unattractive resort/hotels which are in sharp contrast to the quaintness of Cavtat Old Town. We decided to take a boat back to Dubrovnik from this area rather than walk back to the bus stop.Cavtat is a pretty place to visit and perhaps stay for a couple of nights, but I would seek an apartment in the Old Town away from the all-inclusives.
