It's impossible to describe the view you get from there! You'll see all the southern Adriatic islands and just below you the breathtaking Zlatni Rat beach. You can start counting the islands you see to the South, including the steep Brac hills diving into the sea. To the North, you see the coastline and how Brac very gently descends down the hills full of olive and pine trees. There's a small restaurant at the very top of Vidova Gora where things are somewhat overpriced, but not too much where you can relax after a tour up the mountain. This is the highest peak of all Dalmatian islands, close to 950m above sea.
Incredible view on a clear day, but a bit of hassle to get to. Worth doing if you hire a car or scooters one day, not worth it especially as a one trip adventure though. If you're a keen hiker, it is walkable from the top to Bol...be sure to ask for directions and wear shoes.
It's worth the climb to see the view of Hvar and Zlati Rat. Interesting history too - see the plaque honouring WWII heroes!
When your on Brac you just can't miss seeing Vidova gora. The view from upstairs is amazing. It doesn't take a lot of time to go up there and it's totally worth it.
We hired a car and followed a recommended route which included VG. Worth the trip. Little cafe at the top. Possible to do a half day trip by quad bike, which looked like great fun. About £60 for two people from the waterfront in Bol.
When staying on the island Brac, you should defenitely go there. Best do it with a guide or a group, with people that know the way. The view is abolutely stunning, it is worth the climb. Cars can't go to the top, so you have a few hundred meters to do by yourself. But you'll be thankful that you did once you've reached the top.
what a view from this beautiful mountain top. Perfect for a day outing. Views of Zlatni Rat are outstanding
We walked to the summit from Bol .... we were told to expect a two hour climb and a descent in half the time. As it turned out we got up in an hour but took us a long to come back down. All the advice about drink, food etc is spot on but if you can make the walk then you'll be well rewarded.
it is a must if you are in Bol, you can see the Zlatny Rat Beach, the Island Hvar and Korcula from above as well as the city of Bol. We took the false road, so for us to way was kind an adventure, but there is a normal asphalt way to reach the Vidova Gora. Small parking place up there, maybe with a scooter is better, if you are good in walking you can reach it from Bol in an hour walk, you should climb, though. By car you should calculate 35 mins to get there.
Too hot to hike and did not have our own transport so negotiated a round trip at the taxi rank in Bol. 500kn for one hour round trip with 45mins at the top. It was worth it. Decent cafe at the summit and terrific views.
We drove to Vidova Gora as we'd hired a car for the day from Supetar to do the island tour. Well worth the visit superb views of Zlatini Rat and Hvar and other islands. Car parking is free and about a 5 minute walk to the summit.
Parked half way up mountain & enjoyed lovely woodland walk to peak. Views were brilliant & enjoyed snack & drink in the restaurant at summit.
If you come to Brač, you need to visit this place, the highest point of any island in the Adriatic Sea.Excellent view of Bol and Zlatni Rat. In the background Hvar. You can also see a bit of Koručula, Pelješac, Vis.We drove up here after visiting Pustinja Blaca.Don't go for lunch at the only "restaurant" there, it's fast food and overpriced, you are better of going back to Nerežišća.
Hiked to top from Bol. When it's hot day, take enough water and hat. Good shoes also needed. Leave early. Not too hard route, but first hour or half might feel like hell if the weather is hot. After that it's gettin easier because of wind. Beware of big spiders above the path. On the top, views are nice and wind cools you down. Coming down takes less than 2 hrs and is piece of cake.
Outstanding views ! It's a bit if a drive, a long cycle and just about an impossible walk, but it's all worth it ! Early morning is best, when the air is clear
