We went there on our first day in Iceland, my husband is not keen on swimming pools, but the availability of hot geothermal tubs were sufficient to encourage him to dip a tie, and then whole body in hottest the ever- great way to relax and very reasonable pricing. We would return.
On an extremely windy day where severe weather warnings cancelled most tours, my husband and I decided we had to do something other than spend our last day in iceland locked up in our hotel room. We chose Lagafellslaug because of the good trip advisor reviews. We didn't know much about the whole thermal bath experience and felt silly asking if the baths were inside or outside, but the woman behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. A local who also overheard us enquiring encouraged us to give it a try as we were hesitant to be outside due to the strong winds. With both staff and local encouraging us we decided what the hell! And paid our entry (about 600isk pp). There are 3 thermal baths ranging in different temperatures for your comfort. two of the baths had high walls which were great for blocking the strong winds. We spent about 2 hours here and really enjoyed it as there were only approx 5 others in the venue (apart form the school children but they were using the indoor pool). It was great fun sitting there with snow falling on our heads as we sat warmly in the spa. There is also a sauna and steam room (I don't exactly know the difference). This is def worth a visit if you've got a spare few hours and want to experience a thermal bath at a decent price but not exactly a must do in Iceland as there are so many amazing things to do here!!
Some of our tours of iceland were cancelled due to bad weather so we decided to try the local swimming pool and we were really pleased we went. The hot pots were fab and so relaxing as was the sauna/steam room and the outdoor pool was warm and refreshing. It felt quite odd swimming in an outdoor pool in December but it was a great experience and we thorough enjoyed ourselves. Definitely recommend a visit!
Warm pools and hot tubs are Icelandic special thing so everyone has to try it. Swim in the pool, relax in one of the hot tubs, steam bath or saunas while the kids have fun in the pool or the sliders.
Saunas, Slides, jacuzzis with different temperatures to your liking, indoor and outdoor pools. Bring your own towels, though. Clean and spacious. Great place for a family.
It is nice, clean, not to big.The staff is friendly and helpful. There is both indoor and outdoor pool and a great steam bath
Nice pool with lot of activities for children. Sauna and hot pools. The showers are okay. There is also a gym nearby and it is nice to relax in hot pools after work out.
This was our introduction to Icelandic heated swimming pools. We stayed nearby and was referred here by the inn keeper. Easy to find and something for everyone. Lap pool, water slide, indoor pool, kids area, multiple levels of heated jacuzzi-style pools and if you really want to test your metal, steam sauna.
It is for sure one of if not the best swimming pool here in Iceland! You definitely have to try it out!
We visited numerous pools during our second trip to Iceland... and this one probably takes the cake! Top notch facilities, relatively new, three awesome water slides, several hot pots... a must when visiting Iceland!!
This is the best pool in the Reykjavik vicinity in my opinion (yes it is in Mosfellsbær, I know ;). Three superfun waterslides and you can watch your kids ride safely while enjoying the warm pool below.
If the pools in the UK were like this one i would actually spend some time in them. This pool is brilliant, we visited it twice in our week stay in Iceland. Affordable, fantastic facilities. Well worth it.
Kid friendly swimming pool with three waterslides and very baby friendly hot tubs. It's got a sauna but it's too hot and dry for my taste. I tend to visit this pool often.
I visited this pool twice during my stay in Mosfellsbaer and both times I had great fun. There are three slides, multiple spas, saunas, outdoor and indoor pools and everything was clean and functional. I would highly recommend a visit here if you are looking for a casual, relaxing swim session.
The facilities are new and gorgeous. They have both the wet sauna and the dry sauna. The main hot tub has great massage. There are 4 slides for the kids of all ages. My favourite time to go there, is in the morning before the sun comes up, or in the evening.
