We went there on a Saturday for a relaxing day at the baths. We arrived before lunch and it already was fairly busy. I managed to find one empty lounger. There were a few other empty ones but all with towels on them – to reserve them for later I presume. When we first entered the pool system we had expected warm water, but were surprised to find it rather cold. We had been to other Spas where the water was much warmer. The “cold” water would have not been so bad, if you could have a proper swim, but the pool is not deep enough really for swimming. The “side” pools further inside the caves are much warmer and we spent most of our time there, along with the majority of all the other visitors. There was nowhere peaceful/tranquil in the cave system to relax. Later in the afternoon it became too busy for our liking. All in all we enjoyed our time at the spa, as the cave system is amazing and we had a relaxing massage there. We will try to come back in the summer when the outdoor pools are open too, but during the week.

We went for a bath and a massage. What we got was bliss. The massage cost less than half the price in the U.S., and my guy was talented and professional. My wife says her massage left her limp, in a good way. The bath water rushing through limestone caves was a unique experience, and lots of fun. I would call this a superior value. Great for families with kids. Even the cafeteria was reasonably priced. We will go again.

We went after 15:00 o'clock when we purchased cheaper tickets (1500 huf instead of 1950) and stayed until 18:00 o'clock when the Cave Bath closes .Plenty of time for everything. If you stayed longer I would say you get bored (but that's just my opinion). The water at the cave area was too cold , but in the other areas it was ok.If you go for the first time , first you have to explore it a little to know where you can find the halls and the pools , this might be trickier when some areas are closed.

We received free tickets from Seleta Hotel so we visited the cave bath too when we traveled to Northern Hungary. Unfortunately we vent there during school holiday and the place was overcrowded. We had to wait for half an hour to get a changing cabin and finally when we were able to enter the bath all the beds and seats were occupied. The basins were also full of kids and they parents. In this situation we were not able to enjoy the bath and we left soon. The bath itself is fantastic, well designed and built. Please avoid visiting the place during school holidays because you will be vey disappointed.

We decided to visit these cave baths as a day trip out from Budapest. We were not disappointed...and given the number of excellent baths in Budapest that is good praise! We followed the travel instructions provided on The Baths website and all the transport (train, tram and bus) worked perfectly. One top tip - buy Miskolc public transport tickets at the train station ticket office as you arrive (saves 100HUF per journey)In December the outside baths were closed but we easily filled our afternoon in the indoor cave baths, thermal pools and sauna. It also has a great little cafe providing the usual Hungarian hearty food!As part of the indoor complex there are thermal pools at 33C and 35C as well as two different networks of cave pools/tunnels. One is warmer than the other but all lovely! Don't be out off by comments from others about the water temperature - it is as advertised, you're not visiting the geysers of Iceland (!) you're visiting beautiful pools in a cave network. This really is worth a visit if you in Hungary for a while and are looking for a day trip out. We loved it!

We went on a family trip to the baths during the week, it was very cheap to enter the baths very good value, we spent two days there as we stayed local, we would definitely return again, very relaxing , clean and great value for all the family! The only negative thing I can say is the jacuzzi and back massage jets are not often enough but for the price we where all still very relaxed and happy at the end of both days!

We visited the cave baths in mid October, on a week day (wasn't crowded at all), and it was a great experience. The place is very beautiful and unusual. It's actually a pool system in a cave, which makes it very special and fun to explore. The one relative disadvantage of this place was the water temperature - the highest riches 35C. It's really warm to walk in, but you get used to it very fast and wish it was warmer. But nonetheless, it didn't change our experience, since the place is closed and seems to have heating, so it's not influenced much by the weather. The outside pools are closed from October 1st. We were there on a nice sunny day, but I think being there on a rainy and cold day would be just the same. I really recommend visiting this place if you're in the area.TIP: don't miss the pools that are not connected to the cave system, they are on the left from the entrance and though they are the less interesting in their location and atmosphere, they're also the warmest.

We visited on Sunday in the afternoon. Overcrowded with families with small children although the visit was within 2 hrs towards the closing time. the water is not warm as in other thermal baths in Hungary. the depth of water is not for swimming for adults, just to walk through the caves. it is better not to expect too much. Parking space close to the resort was very expansive as it is in a different hotel parking. it is better to park in the big parking compound across the road or small road sides.

Visiting Cave Baths was a great pleasure for body and for soul. Cave bath are natural thermal water source inside the mountain. It's a mirracle. MUST SEE.

This place is truly amazing, the huge baths or pools are dug into massive limestone caves with natural running waters. It's about waste deep and there is a series of different pools of different temperature. In the beginning I was disappointed because I was expecting something very hot, it's actually pretty cool, I swam over to some warmer pools where you get out and enter into another one. Remember this is all under limestone caves so very mysterious. We spent about 1.5 hours there and as we were about to leave we found two seperate pools with very warm springs, I wished we had of seen these first. They have a sauna which Is an extra charge and some massage rooms. I took a 40 minute massage fior 3,600ft and that was a waste of money, she could not have been less interested, and only did my back. There are outdoor pools as well which are closed in October, I guess it's a bit cool. You need to shower before entering the pools. After the showers we joked that this was the hottest part of the pools. They have lockers and food for purchase. It's a very nice facility, clean and well maintained. I would do this only once but glad I did it, it's a beautiful city. Cost was 1,950 per person, about US8.

It's definitely a really cool place to go to however I would not say that it is a must go when you are only visiting Hungary for a while. The spas in the caves are definitely something unique, but the water was way too cold and there were too way too many people, possibly because we went there on a Saturday. I would say that there are better places to go to.

Spent two weeks visiting my country and must say this place was the winner for the whole family!Besides the gorgeous site, we enjoyed a family hide and seek in the cooler pools, relaxed in the warm ones, then got refreshed outside.Got a wonderful massage, fish pedicure and even tried the floating relaxation in the oyster bath! All staff members were very helpful and friendly, the services were great. We even had great lunch and ice-cream there!Perfect day with the family!

What was supposed to be the highlight of our trip - was the most disappointing part of it. When we arrived, staff was very rude and unhelpful, almost forcing us to go to the lockers even though we were already in our bathing suites and dressed, all because we wanted to take our bag with us, which had water and some food ready for (what we though will be) a fun day.We checked out the Cave's website info about the massages they offer, and were really looking forward to it. on the website it had a long "menu" of different "special" massages, but when we arrived all the had is the regular stuff, and only 20 minutes appointments for some reason. we would have taken even the 20 minutes, but they also weren't the most nicest of people we've met in Hungary, so we let it go.Now, about the water. When we visited, weather outside was pretty chilly, cloudy and even rained for a little bit. we were sure that the water would be nice and warm. It wasn't. everyone who's stepped inside the water immediately showed sings of "WOW that's cold!". We checked all the pools they have to offer, some were a bit warmer... but nothing that you can stay in for more than 15 minutes and not get used to it and start to look for something warmer. And as the title says - i got a cold due to the cold water and the cold air around the caves. Also, i don't thing those are some kind of thermal water... it smelled exactly as a regular pool - full of Chlorine. What was suppose to be a day full of bathing was a mere 2 hours of looking for a place to get warm. On the plus side, the place is really special and beautiful and i think on warmer days would be fun to hang in, but it should not by any means operate when the weather is cold, or they should make the water A LOT more warmer. Too bad this place is operated by rude people and false advertising. Also, the town it self charges money for parking - don't pay them. we found a great free parking space 200 meters after the town's money hungry parking lots

I was for the 2nd time in the Cave Baths of Miskolc Tapolca. Its maybe the most beautiful Bath in Hungary. The other hot springs have historic or modern buildings but no one has a natural cave like here in Miskolc Tapolca.Do not expect a really hot spring, the caves water has only around 30 - 32°C. There is one inside building pool that has 35°C which is the hottest the bath has.I have read from others here that the hot springs are very crowded. Not in september weekdays when i was there. The negative, they still use outdated changing rooms and lockers. Nearly nobody speaks english or german. Unfriendly staff. Cave Baths is closing at 18.00h (6.00pm). Too early !

I guess they want to copy it soon. The best way to get there is by car,but park a few hundred meters away from the springs the parking fees is a ripp off aroun 2.50 - 3€ a hour. The negative, they still use outdated changing room lockers. Nearly nobody speaks english or german.Unfriendly staff. Cave Baths closing 18.00h (6.00pm) If you want to keep tourists you need to bee open longer.
