Things started well with a bright sunny day and a dolmus from the Comlecki terminus down the hill and turn right from the hotel horon. Cheaper than a tour and with much greater flexibility of return. Tours to Uzangol leave at 10am and leave uzungol at 17.00. Interesting 2 hour journey along coast and up through tea plantations. Uzangol itself a disappointment. Relatively small lake, Takes about an hour maximum to walk around. Lot of quite tacky small hotels. There seemed little to do. Much colder and cloudier than the crossroads and at least 10 degrees colder. We went in a 4 star hotel and read marketing brochure. Lot if info about birds and wildlife but did not see or find any form of marked trail in any direction. Also description of nascent ski activities. I think at least one lift might help this get off the ground. Lot of construction but, in early October, a lot of existing premises looked closed. One restaurant well frequented but others empty. We arrived at 12.30 and were more than happy to take the 14.45 dolmus back to Trabzon. Another 2 hours in the cold waiting for the tour would not have been fun and no beer anywhere to be seen.

When you visit Trabzon, put this lake on your must-do list. Book a tour to take you there, the trip will take around 2 hours to reach the lake from Trabzon. When you reach there you will find beautiful nature. there are many restaurants and cafes and some small shops. There are no places to swim there. Allow 3 hours to enjoy the place.

Rather crowded in June but still picturesque. A small lake formed several hundred years ago when a landslide dammed the river. Now it looks like somewhere in the Alps, with green forests, wooden chalet hotels etc - but also a large mosque and mainly Middle Eastern tourists.The lake is quite small, with a path around it - good for half an hour's exercise walking round it before breakfast. We have been told that no more hotels will be allowed and we hope that is enforced as the lakeside is becoming rather built up. A lovely spot away from the summer heat experienced further south.

Uzungol is a fantastic and amazing place to visit! We were so unlucky that it was raining on the day we visited Uzungol. Despite the rain, we did a quick tour in our raincoats, but I can imagine how fantastic this place must be when it's not raining. A must-see if you are travelling through the Black Sea..

if you got here, then be sure that you had the best choice. this is a wonderful area which many may dream to see.make sure to come from the north, not from other areas because roads may not be paved.

Uzungol Village and Lake is situated in the Caykara district of Trabzon Province and is 90km from the city of Trabzon.We went to Uzungol by local bus from Trabzon.The road follows the Black Sea Coast and then turns inland into the mountains. It is a beautiful area and the Lake and Village is really picturesque. You will also see the many tea plantations on the mountains and along the way we stopped at a tea factory and was offered some of the locally produced tea. The village has a few shops and also restaurants - some which are situated on the Lake with really good food and they also serves river trout. In summer the surrounding area is popular with hikers and campers. I also noticed some pensions and timber houses were accommodation is offered , but would think it is mostly for summer as November was already quite cold. You can get tickets from Ulusoy bus company on Ataturk Square in Trabzon and in November 2012 it costs 35 Turkish Lire or alternatively you can book it through your hotel.

Bir doğa harikasının insan eliyle mahvedilişini izlemek için iyi bir yer. Bu kadar otel ve pansiyona ihtiyaç var mıdır? Var ise bu kadar gelişigüzel yapılaşma olur mu? Caminin ve var olan Kuran kursunun yanına kocaman bir yeni kurs binası eklemenin amacı nedir? Uzungöl'de daimi ikamet eden kaç kişi var da ihtiyaç çıkıyor. Bunlar bence çıkar amaçlı işler, olan Uzungöl'e oluyor. Sanırım kirlilikten epey bir bölümü yosunlaşmış.

Uzungöl de ilk dikkatimi çeken şey çarpık yapılaşma oldu. Çok düzensiz bir şekilde restoranlar ve oteller yapılmış her tarafa, bu yetmezmiş gibi bir beton yığınını andıran ne olduğu henüz belli olmayan bir yapıyı şu an gölün yanı başına yapıyor olmaları. Çok mükemmel bir yer, ama ne yazık ki insanlar girdikleri yerleri berbat ediyorlar. Göl gördüğüm kadarıyla geçmişe oranla kirlenmiş vaziyette. Ama yine de mutlaka gezilmesi, görülmesi gereken biryer. Karadeniz bölgesine gidip de uzungölü görmeden dönülmez.

Bu kadar harika bir yeri bu hale getirenlere hesap sormak gerek. Üç kuruş fazla kazanacaklar diye şu pis arapları konuk etmeyin yaaa... Uzun yillar aksatmadan gittigim, uzungole bu yil gittigimde pislikten baska hic birsey gormedim. Araplar her tarafi sarmış pislikten gecilmiyor. Hayranı olduğum yerlere igrenerek baktim. Hani temizlik imandan gelir di, ya araplar düşün memleketimin yakasindan. Allahta sizi bildigi gibi yapsın.
